Hotel must imporve on Lift-security with ONLY Room Key access. Hotel environment & surroundings is quite nice. But the location is distance from town area. Convennient for those who love beaches than town. Nice lobby design. Room interior is acceptable but some furnish need to be looked into. Hotel staff at the reception are friendly. Nice lounge is available for my best interest.

Good breakfast, rooms are clean,Friendly staff Outdated room/TV. Shower pressure is low Generally for relaxation, it is a good place to stay for the proce of it and if you have a car, going further north to the night market area is not a problem. The provate beach is for relaxation only but if you are into water sports you need to go further up. I would come back again.
Shopping Tip : You need own transport if need to go shopping as nothing near the surrounding

Beach is not close, the housekeeping sucks. We left at 10 AM and came back at 6 PM and the room had not been made till then. The concierage. They confirmed an interconnecting room for us but when we got there they said that they did not confirm. I showed them the e-mail that said so and they said that the person who replied to my email would be there in the morning so I should take up this matter with her later.
The room we were given had stinky carpets, one of the rooms had a leak from an air conditioning vent and it dripped all night long.
The baby cots were all occupied and they did not even provide extra blankets for the kids saying that we have a one per room policy. After we yelled at them, they finally sent us one.
Its not as close to Batu Ferringhi as they claim and the beach connected thru the overhead bridge is very rocky, not safe for kids at all.

- didn't like d fried mee The price was very cheap... even cheaper than government staff price if u book thru AGODA. The hotel was beautiful. I was upgraded to deluxe room for free due for d peak season. very spacious + comfy. Even though d famous Penang night market was not right infront of the hotel but it was just a few KM away. think it was less than 5mins drive.Total privacy at the hotel. Will come again soon!

Nice hotel for relaxing and enjoying at the poolside. The rooms deluxe are big and clean for me. The room bathroom are small. The hydro hotel is a good hotel and value for money.The breakfast is a good for me and kids. I like the pool nice, enjoying and safety for my kids. The beach also nice.The next time i will come back at this hotel.

THe hotel has a very good swimming pool arrangement for the customer i.e for small kids, medium age and adults, my kids enjoyed!Room are good. The reception counter for check in and out are lousy. The hotel supposed to ope up more counters especially during the peak season. We end up have had to queue for more than half and hour. Overall the hotel facility are good and fully recommended for a fasmily holiday!
Shopping Tip : The best shopping mall is Gurney Plaza, its quite near to the hotel, about 10 min drive!

Location, nice Batu Ferringhi. Room is not up to scratch. This is the worst hotel I stayed in during my 9-day holiday and its my last stop. The room is really dissapointing. TV is not working. Toilet flush is not working. No complimentary water. Bed linen is really old. The only saving grace is its location. Its near enough to my favourite hotel in Penang; ie. Rasa Sayang, where I can go for a good meal and enjoy its fantastic ambience.

internet is not free We stayed in Hydro Hotel for 4 nights.
The hotel is very good, due to some reason my booked superio room was upgraded to delux room.
The hotel is a little far from city, but near to the main beach. It's easy to book a taxi, just tell the counter.
You can ored food anytime in room. The food is not bad.

The room allocated to me was pretty nice with a good view of the sea. Room was big and clean. Breakfast was a plus as they change the menu daily during my stay. Location of hotel was far from night market and the main beach. Service of lobby staff can be improved. The location of the hotel was not near the night market where all the eatery and shopping were located. The hotel does provide shuttle bus but the timing was rather odd. The customer service officer who serve me might be in a bad mood as i dont feel welcome during the check in. Other than these, the hotel was new and well maintained.

The only selling point of this hotel is the location. It is located in the middle of Batu Ferringhi and George Town which allowed me to travel conveniently from and to the places that I want to. There are too many cons.
1) The Check In process is slow
2) Smelly sofa in the hotel lobby in front of reception
3) I will consider the beach is far away from the hotel
4) The telephone lines cannot work / function properly
5) Parking bay is small and the turning curve is narrow
Location: Considered as good location and it is suitable for those traveller who wish to visit the nice scenary of Batu Feringghi and George Town. But in terms of facilities and service, it is really considered as slightly below average. The reason is:-
1)Staff Communication: You are not able to communicate well with the room service personel. I have tried to use English and Malay, but they seems like unable to understand. I really have no idea where are the staffs come from.
2) Security: Do not feel secured while walking down towards the beach opposite the hotel.
3) Hygiene: Smelly balcony - the balcony is never been cleaned. I have to wear my shoe while standing on the balcony. Also, the plates and glasses are really dirty, I really could not choose a proper plate and glasses but asked the staff to get me a new batch of plates and glasses.
4)Room Service: Face towels are not replaced due to the insufficient supply.
5)Room Category: The name of "Executive Deluxe" has misguided me that I will be staying in Executive Club Floor. (Normally Executive Deluxe is located in Executive Club Floor which this allow the guest to use extra facilities.)
Restaurant Tip : There is one Korean BBQ Restaurant Daorae which nearby the hotel is really good!

can be quite congested during peak time with inadequate parking located not really on the beach but instead, the hotel is situated across the road from the water line. The hotel however provides a pedestrian crossing to the beach that provides some protection from the vehicular traffic. The facilities are quite okay and the pool catered to the children. Breakfast was provided as part of the package and was quite good.
Overall, an okay place to stay while you are visiting Penang.
Nightlife Tip : night market about 2 to 3 km from the hotel

has renovated. Good rooms, good view. value for money. some small ants but could be from the things i brought from my car; may be a setback for foreign tourists as it is a drive away from town, thus will need a taxi. Food, like any hotel, can be expensive. Bad TV reception, but who cares? No one stays in a hotel just to watch TV. Hydro has renovated. Rooms are okay, service good. No odour or smell in the room. I stayed here as it is near my conference site and i drive. For foreign tourists, may be a setback as you will need a taxi; NOT a walking distance to georgetown city.
Travel tip : Stay here only if you are in a group or tour group. That way, you save money when taking a taxi.

music performances in lobby bar were too loud this hotel is not a bad choice at all but there are a few points of critics. all issues can be solved immediately. hotel management can haqve a closer look at these points.
we did enjoy our stay.
Restaurant Tip : go to ferrengi garden restaurant in batu ferrengi and enjoy very good food at reasonable prices.
wine tip: chili gato negro white chardonnai.
