staff are friendly. the outdoor activities are great!
The environment is good and the location is not hard to find. There is only one restaurant, which has a limited choice of food and the taste of the food may not be suitable for Chinese people.
The spa closed at 5:00pm, which is quite early.
The staff are very friendly and nice.

Friendly staff, beautiful cottage rooms, good play areas for children
The worst meals (breakfast lunch and dinner) at any hotel we stayed at in Malaysia. "Adventure" activities are in poor condition
We went to this resort hoping to stay for a few days and do some mountain biking and hiking around the island, followed by lounging around the pool. Well, the bikes available for hire are in very poor condition and are not of suitable size for adults. The pools had no lounge chairs (apparently, they were being refurbished) so the hotel could only provide plastic patio chairs to sit upright on. The most distressing aspect of our stay was the poor quality of the food which included undercooked chicken, "hotdogs" for breakfast sausage, and a generally unappealing atmosphere in the resturant made meal times a misery. Given that this is an island resort (to be fair, it has a beautiful setting and nice rooms) with no other options for food aside from going to the mainland (in fact the hotel has signs everywhere stating "no outside food allowed") they really need to make sure their resturant has a good menu and serves nice food.
Travel tip : Bring your own food and drinks from the mainland.

Great service, really nice rooms, wonderfull outdoor (nature) & activities, for the price you pay; you really can't ask for anything anymore
The buffet dinner was a really let-down...
We (2 adults & 2 kids) stayed for 1 night. It is among one of the best get-away for the family (& also couple) to spend quality time and activities together. One dissapointment would be the BBQ buffet we had, that was really a big let down, the BBQ was really below average. Overall, we still have a great time and of course i'll be back again given the chance.
Restaurant Tip : Looking for good dinning experience? There are great choices across the shore in Queensbay Mall. Just time your trip accordingly (the ferry transfer is on average 2 hrs per trip).

chalet was beautifully decorated, very clean & comfortable; gorgeous well-kept gardens & pool area; superb massage with beautiful view; terrific facilities; excellent staff: ALL staff went out of their way to make us feel very welcome & comfortable. ALL staff from managers to reception to restaurant to pool staff were very friendly & helpful, a credit to them all.
We stayed at the spa village in January 2009. After a fabulous 3 relaxing days we were not quite ready to leave. I would highly recommend this gorgeous resort & would not hesitate to return in the future for a very relaxing pampered time away from everything.

Very courteous staff from arrival by taxi, assistance to ferry, to arrival at the island, check-in, management, dining room, survival shop, all were excellent and a credit to the organization.
Some rubbish, plastic bags and bottles noticed strewn around in the undergrowth behind some of the cabins. Otherwise the environment was kept quite clean.
I did find that the food was not too warm and could have been a little warmer for my liking.
An enjoyable stay that due to commitments was not far long enough, prompting me to consider returning along with my wife next time. I was unable to partake of a full inspection of the site and look forward to doing so at a future visit.
Hotel Feature Tip : A well planned rustic atmosphere fits in well with the environment and nature.

Too good ambience, very natural
Peaceful place...best when you want to relax and enjoy the nature too
very helpful staff
This place is a must stay in Penang. Though it is reachable only by boat but it is worth going and staying. The ambience is awesome. All the facilities are present inside the hotel.

The spa village cottages, the delightful decor and furnitures, the lonely pool.
Very few scheduled ferries to get back to Pulau Pinang.
If you're looking for an affordable chalet experience in the jungle not far away of the city this is the right place for you.

Beautiful rooms. Great Spa. Total solitude. Helpful staff.
Scheduled ferry time. Needs nocturnal entertainment. Some areas needs maintenance.
Always wanted to visit this resort. Finally got a chance. Were very surprised by the great room (Chalet) since it is located on a hilltop. The staff was helpful, when it rains they will drive you to your chalet.
The only problem I faced was that I wanted to go diving on one of the days, the boat was leaving at eight and the scheduled ferry was only at 0730. As such must request for a special ferry ride.
There was also no airport transfer, apparently the resort van was in the shop, but as if there is no other vehicles in Penang.
Hotel Feature Tip : Must try the SPA. Great facilities with a beatiful view of the city.

Had a great time. Could relax or could get into some activity. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very helpful. I loved what was on offer to do and the pools and massages are great, especially the view while having a massage.
Not being able to swim in the sea.
Loved the canopy walk and the flying fox. The pools were fantastic and the view while having a massage was to die for. I loved the fact that you could do some team work events or go riding push bikes or the ATV bikes. The breakfast was really nice and so was the dinner and lunches.

A very peaceful island away from the noise of Penang, lovely clean rooms and friendly staff.
Only one boat an hour to the mainland.
I stay at this hotel with my son and we both found it very quite and peaceful. The rooms were large and well cared for, being nicely decorated and kept very clean. The service was very efficient ad the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area was in good condition and was relaxing tom swim in, as it was large and clean.

It is hard to find much wrong, but it is well run and the food is great. The Chalet was rated as three star, I thought it was more like 4.5 stars
Very hard to fault, but the staff attitude when leaving lost some of its smiling enthusiasm, but this is a minor point
Although only staying one night it was a great experience from arrival to departure. The outlook, the friendly atmosphere of the village taxis, the quality and ambience of the Chalet and it was also clean. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The 3 courses we had at dinner we rate two as excellent and one as ok. Breakfast was a large buffett treat. I remember the real cocunut and berry jams as a real treat. I will be back!!!
Restaurant Tip : The restaurant is part of the attraction. Allow the time to enjoy it.
