A great escape

Mango Tree Place was a great choice for our stay. Wei, the suitekeeper, was a great hostess, providing us with nuggets of information on where to find the best food and to sight-see. Breakfast provided every morning was a sample of the best of what Penang offers and a great introduction, especially to any tourists unfamiliar to the food of the peninsula. The room was big and comfortable and we were taken with the many little touches they did in the designing of the entire place. The hotel is also only 15mins away from the famous Gurney Drive food centre, and 5mins from the famous Tau Sah Piah shops.
All-in-all, a great place to stay.

First of all, all rooms are in residential shophouse. All double storey, without lifts. That was a slight problem for my mum.
The place is along a small road, maybe 5 to 7 mins walk away from the main road. The main road is, about 5 mins taxi ride from Gurney Drive, 10 mins taxi ride to Georgetown Shopping Complex like 1st Complex. It is quite far away from Penang Hill and Kei Lo Shi, maybe 20mins taxi ride and Hard Rock Cafe is at least 30mins taxi ride away.
The Home Stay is special in a way that all houses have their own common area, but as there is only 2 rooms, mine and another room sharing the common area, it feel quite private and cosy. My common area comes with 1 PC, around 6 chairs, 1 tables, DVD are available from lobby area.

Just a great place to stay, a beautiful art deco style boutique hotel, clean, great service, nice quiet location, great breakfast, and the operator has lots of great tips and ideas for things to do, and places to go. Astra T.v channels, internet is good, AC is great, fans too. Highly recommend this place, we had a great stay.

It was excelent! Staffs were all friendly and very helpful. Although it was not right next to the center, we could reach many nice local food stores.

Mang Tree Place was excellent! Great and nice design to all the rooms and areas, good breakfast, comfortable and large rooms. Best of all, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful but not intrusive and you have lots of privacy. Our first room had a small problem and without hesitation they upgraded us to a different and better room. Great place for couples on an anniversary.

Parking available right in front of our courtyard room gave us the feeling of coming home. The attention deco gave us surprises after surprises which provided unexpected entertainment to discover this unique boutique hotel. The breakfast is the best in town an a must try! Everything else in Penang is exemplified in this hotel - history, culture, food and fun!
