Interesting hotel with great staff service
The immersion in the UNESCO World Heritage area is great, staff worked very hard.

Hotel is good although can be noisy given size and location. The area is busy with a lot of renovating going on.

We really enjoyed our stay in Muntri Mews. Check in took a while because they realised that I had requested for a quiet room, hence they were trying to accomodate us in another room which is much further away from the hustle and bustle of the cafe and road. We stayed in Room I which is very spacious and comfy. Bathroom was sparkling clean although it ran out of hot water the next morning because we woke up late. Had to wait a few hours to have the water heated again. Wifi was very unstable in room, but stronger at the corridor, so you can sit outside on the lounge chair to check your mails. Breakfast was great!

A little Gem
Its quiet location and cafe

muntri mews is a great little hideaway in central penang. its small size means it has an intimate feel yet it is a 10 minute walk from pretty much everything happening in penang.
the cafe serves excellent food and is a nice place to sit in the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown.
rooms are spacious and well laid out offering great value for money

Too expensive for what is offered

With the best suite room, you have no cupboard to put your clothes, which have to stay in your bag, you have no safe to put your valuables, and therefore take risks in leaving things in the room whn going out, you have no mineral water but "filtered water" in opened bottles, you are not allowed to more than two cups of coffee with your breakfast, or pay a supplement. On top of that the hotel has no common parts (small cafe/restaurant open to the outside), no garden, no pool of course, the environment outside is dirty, the internet does not work well enough, etc, etc...
Restaurant Tip:
Go and eat in the restaurants of the famous Eastern and Oriental Hotel, the quality/price value is good as compared with tg mediocrity of other restaurants nearby.

A Penang Gem
The peace and quite and service

This is a great little gem in the heart of Georgetown. It is small size belies the attention to service and the pleasant atmosphere. The Courtyard cafe is a great place to hangout.
If you are saving money and staying in the ground floor rooms you can take advantage of the seating areas in the garden.
The upstairs rooms are spacious
Restaurant Tip:
Try Tek Sen restaurant a few blocks away. The hotel staff can direct you.
