beach view,near resturents,quite location. Overall i liked my stay at the hotel. The food quality and the breakfast was incredible. The location of the hotel and the view was excellent.I recomend this hotel to everyone going to Penang. its a great value for the money. will stay there again. the staff was very corteaus and nice.

we love the landscape, pool & surrounding hotels too. need to renovate or refurbish, some furniture looked old. it's a beautiful hotel, sure would like to stay again...

Locatoin of the hotel couldn't be more perfect. It's right in the middle of the "Night Market" area. Once we got into our room, we wished we had booked in ParkRoyal for our whole stay in Penang.
I just loved the interiors and the Orange Wall painting inside the bathroom. And I loved how each corridor had a beautiful balcony at its end.
The Staff were the kindest and most helpful ever. They made is very comfortable for us tp ask them for directions and recommended places of interests. Breakfast buffet was excellent and I especially loved their fresh-juice stall!
The Pool was very clean and the food at the cafe "Cool Bananas" was excellent. We had very delicious club sandwiches.
I would definitely recommend it.

The hotel had nice rooms, very spacious reception/lobby area and the swimming pool is great too. The night market ends right in front of the Park Royal and the restaurants were also at walking distance. The staff were not helpful. The room had a corner sea view and noise of pressure cooker in the morning woke us up. The hotel looked clean and nice and is perfect for family vacation but too crowded for honeymooners.
I lost my wallet from the hotel lobby at 1:30 am when there was no guests around. I came down from the room within 5 minutes of realizing that I forgot my wallet but couldn't find anything.
The hotel staffs were not co operative regarding this issue and one of the staff said that they only have a camera at the bar area to monitor their own staff and no camera around that place. Whereas after complaining to the police i could get to see videos from all areas.
I received no phone call from the hotel regarding the matter and they were totally not co operative.
Travel tip : There are few cafes/bars at 2 mins walking distance from the hotel which were not so noisy as the night market area.

Friendly Staff, Great Spa, Great Selection of Food for Breakfast. Rooms can be better furnished eg. LCD TV, etc. The hotel is a good place to stay if you are looking at a short weekend gateway from the hectic day to day life. The abundance of place where you can lay down & just enjoy the beach, the staff is friendly & plenty of stuff to do by the beach. Breakfast menu is a whole dining experience all together with plenty to choose from. Being walking distance from the night market also help.

Breakfast spread was good.The room I was in had a great view of both swimming pools and the beach...very big balcony!
Staff was polite and friendly.The service given was excellent. The walls along the corridors leading to the room were a bit worn out. When I booked the room, I asked for "non-smoking". When I checked in, I was told my room would be on the "smoking" floor. I requested it to be changed but since the hotel was full,it was not possible. However, the manager personally checked the room and convinced me that there was absolutely no smell of cigarettes and I would love the view. He was right.There was no smell and the view was great. The service given was excellent. A complimentary cake was sent to my room.My guess is that they were trying to make up for the error over the non smoking room...a nice gesture!

Their food selection and the very friendly service Our room decor was rather dated but the room was still clean and well maintained Parkroyal Penang is a rather large hotel with great services and food. Breakfast choice was very impressive. At the Spa we had two bookings for facials and massages. Both services were relaxing and very enjoyable albeit not cheap. Pool was lovely and very clean. The cafe Cool Bananas served excellent food for day snacks. Staff very polite and helpful. Our room was cleaned immacuately, and lovely treats were left in the room in the afternoon. The nightmarkets start just outside the hotel front and many choices for dinner within walking distances. The beach not too much advisable, taxis were readily available outside. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay but it is not a 5 star place.

Price of foodand drinks a bit high This hotel was great. the rooms are huge and well appointed: robes, new samsung tv and dvd player. the pool complex was great clean and child friendly. right on the beach with beautiful gardens. The staff were soooo frielndly and helpful and the breakfast buffet is amazing especially the pastries. Recommended.
Restaurant Tip : Get a discount voucher for the buffet from one of the helpful staff members

Breakfast, pool, ftness room, and friendly staff. Phone charges for connections overseas, even if you don't make contact with the person overseas, a rip off.
Manager of the breakfast buffet never smiled or said good morning, only the staff under him. This hotel was recommended by a girlfriend who has stayed at the Park Royal for 6 times now. A great location quiet, easy walk down to shops and other restaurants. A great breakfast buffet daily and friendly staff. The pool was great too. I think they have to promote cheaper drinks at the entertainment area in the evening to encourage people to join in and appreciate the entertainment. Guests go outside the hotel to eat and drink a lot because of the high prices inside the hotel and its great to enjoy the culture of the people and the food outside the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Walk down to Long Beach Restaurant area to experience the food and people, we ate there because of the variety and value of the experience. Its very popular and would receommend.

The layout and design of the building. A bit pricey and air conditioning in room is on the cold side. This hotel is well designed. Tall and spacious lounge and reception removed the need for air conditioning. The swimming pool and colourful garden blends well. The staff were cheerful and attentive to guests. Beach front is fairly clean, but, water looks murky. You are quickly accosted by beach vendors, but, they leave you if not interested in their activities.
Restaurant Tip : Lots of restaurants and shops around the hotel's main road at night.

I would say their best features are not Park Royal itself. It is what the locals have to provide at the back of Park Royal which is on the Beach. Jet Ski, Para Sailing, etc. Oh yeah Banana Boat for your kids too. Location of Park Royal and it's long beach is a good relaxing place. Service is good too if you going to hang out at the pool bar like i do. ah! Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmons. Must try it! Hmm.. Need a new PING PONG BAT and BALL is cracked! The Ping Pong table need to be replaced it's getting colapsing.. lol. Well not much improvements we had alot of fun and have always do. Slack thing is they never remember their regular customers. I may be wearing some normal local clothes but i've been staying there so many times. Not like Berjaya Hotels they remember their regular customers. oh yeah.. talk about reception. I was there on SAT a day before i had to get on Agoda.Com and book a room for Park Royal. Reception say "We are fully booked for the week!" Well they are not! Bunch of sticking liars! Get on Agoda.Com and make your booking.. abracadabra you get your room at Park Royal. Well can't blame them Malaysians are just good bunch of liars. I would say 90% are! So beware! It is not the first time for me in Park Royal Penang. Well it has been many times which i usually book from their website but lately Agoda.Com has ease my booking much better and faster. If you are going to stay in Park Royal you going to have to like the beach and the night market shopping which is cheap and always do bargain to get it cheaper. Due to large amount of tourist they have randomly increase their price for their product. I'm local here in Malaysia so i practically know how much are the cost of these items.
Nightlife Tip : If you do your shopping at the night market outside of Park Royal. Lesson 1: If the item is 100(RM) Ringgit Malaysia do bargain for 60(RM). They are bunch of cut troats on tourist.
