Great location, smelly room, no-refill breakfast

Displayed photo on hostel did not truly represent the room conditions. Room is filled with minimum decoration with lots of flies and mosquito. There is loud music playing next to the hostel till the wee hours in the morning. Very strict breakfast schedule that start from 0830, no refilling of the buffet after 0845 and there will be nothing to eat.

Okay location, basic but clean rooms. Wifi does not work upstairs or in rooms as advertised, and we were put in the wrong type of room, which they did change but clearly did not want to. After we had asked to change rooms one member of staff was pretty rude for the rest of our stay. The other member of staff was nice and helpful.

Worst hotel in Penang

I have not often complained about hotels regardless of budget but the stay at Red Inn Cabana, after staying in 2 other hotels in penang prior to the last night, left me with a bad impression. 1. receptionist (filipino, not the Caucasian) is terribly unfriendly and any question seemed to be a chore for her 2. room was smelly, like someone with bad feet just left 3. pillow was smelly 4. towel wAs smelly 5. no wifi in rooms, claiming that modem upstairs was stolen. guests have to sot downstairs to access 6. no water in the night and morning (well, with no info provided as to when it will be fixed or alternatives to brush our teeth) 7. Noisy and can hear commotion middle of the night in the common area 8. breakfast was so so but for price i can't complain. Breakfast area is dark with no proper chairs or table 9. Upon checkout wanted to leave luggage there but unfriendly receptionist gave a look like it is an uncommon request 10. Deposit of RM50 was not returned automatically upon check out. Most hotels will initiate but here you have to ask. I nearly forgot and only remembered when I came back to collect luggage. Wonder how many deposits have been 'forgotten' Lastly, for the price, we would be expecting basic courtesy, service and functional logistics. Not asking for what most b & b provide (and they give a smile). Please improve otherwise all guests will not return.

Good Stay....

This hotel was located at Bayan Lepas near Queensbay Mall. There were plenty car parking space at the basement and the hotel receptionist was very professional, passionate to serve us. I felt very welcome. Our room was at 17th floor and everything was in order and looked new to me on the way to the room. Once we opened the room door, we were surprised to see that the size of the room. It was huge. We had a family suite but the room could cater at least 5 queen size bed. The room has 1 King size plus a sofa bed for single person. The bed was so comfortable and we had a very sound & quality sleep. The bathroom was large with partitioned shower space. All the bathroom amenities was in order. It was very clean and felt so good to use them. Water pressure was damn good and hot water was never failed. For the record, this was the largest hotel room that I ever had. However, they still providing the CRT TV... not flat and it was small too. With the bed far from the TV, it looked very small to view it. Another opposite side of it, the air-cond was dripping water at night. Though the room rate was RM180 nett without b/f, it was a satisfied and comfy stay. That's the most important.

air conditioning in the room was very bad. maintenance was not done at all until the guest arrived and complained. maintenance was called but not from the "hvac" company instead the staff of the hotel and came and washed the filter. decided to check out the next day.

Good location but disappointing environment

Red Inn Cabana is near to those art street, we can reach to thos art streets by walking.

Free parking lots are provided for Red Inn Cabana guest and located at a very good place. We can actually go to the famous chendol stall and art streets by walking. Their staff is very nice to guest, however particular staff misbehaved, she stares at guest after arguing with her colleague. Do not expect Red Inn Cabana will serve all the guests with breakfast unless you are ready in the dining room at 8:30am sharp, because they will only prepare not more than 20pax breakfast even full house of guests. Some of the rooms we stayed are smelly, one of air-conditioner was not functioning well, but they did ask technicians for service. A lot of mosquitoes appeared in the reading & relaxation area even bedrooms.

Someone had turned the Air con down and misplaced the remote before we got there, so the unit was dripping and making cracking noises throughout the first night. It was a reasonable place to stay, though the staff didn't go out of their way to help you, and the bathrooms certainly could have been cleaner.

Ugly hotel with a lot of noise from chinese karaok

This Dilapidated Run Down Hotel Needs to be Bulldozed & Erased

i was making mistakes when i decided to stay in this hotel in penang for 5 days and 4 nites, looking from the pictures..this red inn cabbana appears to be in great shape,but it is a dilapidated run down guest house (it does not deserved to be called a hotel at all)...staying in the room all the time,1st entered the room, it smelled bad,the receptionist noted that it probably is coming from smelly backpackers bags the smelled previously...i had to sprayed the room with my bvlgari perfumery...and could not change the room since it is fully booked all the times...and door knob was almost broken apart in room 213...sharing bathroom shower and toilet..one night, i had to take a cold shower since all the hot water was not working,it had to be turned out at least 1 hour for the hot water to work...the entire wooden floor was reeking and making noises when someone was walking...could hear the people walking through out the nites on guest house wooden floor establishment...and could not sleep at all...the maid said that we do not clean the room and do not change the bed sheet until the guest is check out when i asked her to clean my room...so if the guest was staying for 10 nites...basically no bed sheet and no trash was emptied unless the guest was checked out...i chose this hotel because of free breakfast...turned out,..only 4 tin cans of breakfast foods for the entire guesthouse...consisted of fresh apples,oranges,some curry vegetables penang style,glass noodles,and some bread...forget about breakfast to be mentioned then,it just not enough for every guest in the establishment...this dilapidated run down guesthouse needed to be bulldozed...
