Big room, Clean, Hight Speed Broadband, plenty of hawkers. Check out very slow. Receiption only got 2 ladies working. Overall I'm enjoyed my stay at the Sunway hotel. Close to the Komtar, Pelangi Mall and the hop on hop off bus. the breakfast was good and plenty to choose from - I would certainly recommend this hotel as convenient and close to where you want to go. But need to to monitor your check out time. It will take some time for them to check out for you
Restaurant Tip : Just walk out the hotel, you can get most of the local food from Penang. But only at night time.

Friendly breakfast staff, location, value for money Faded decor and old fittings. Unnattended, non-airconditioned gym. This hotel is in a good location for a feel of downtown Georgetown, next to a lively food nightmarket and within walking distance of Komtar shopping mall. The hotel itself is clean but worn (those symmetrical marks in the carpet in most rooms are not dirt stains but burn marks from the room iron!) The staff are willing though not always able, and creaking fittings and inclusions (eg, the intermeittent availability of wi-fi internet and the delapidated ironing board in our room) making for a not so smooth stay for those who forget they're not paying top dollar. Overall, value for money.
Restaurant Tip : If you're not up to going out for dinner after a hard day holidaying, and don't feel like hotel room service, then the nightmarket outside this hotel does great takeaway for a night in. Go from stall to stall and retire to your room with an armful!

Handy to food stalls at front of hotel. Easy to get taxis out the front. Courteous front office staff Only one staff member on duty at desk usually, you have to wait to be served. I booked the hotel on the internet,and found it to be what it said it was. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. Close to the Komtar and the hop on hop off bus. the breakfast was good and plenty to choose from - I would certainly recommend this hotel as convenient and close to where you want to go. The hotel shop is a bit disappointing, opening late and not much interest there. Could be more tours on offer. Overall quite a good choice .
Restaurant Tip : The food court at front of hotel was exellent. No need to find restaurants really. The seafood restaurant down the road was a bit overpriced.

The hotel is ideally located at the heart of Gerogetown.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful,
Lots of variety of hawker food just outside the hotel. Bus interchange is about 15 mins walk from the hotel at KOMTAR, outside MAY Bank Lack of hotel staff at the morning breakfast restaurant.The breakfast left over plates, dishes, utensils were not clear away fast enough. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, offering information whenenever they are approached, eg where to take local buses, the best hawker food in town, taxi fare/city tour charges.Local tours are availableat at the lobby. Lots of variety of local hawker food are available just outside the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Local tour is easily available for whole day, half day or night tour package.
Please check with other sources to get the best bargain before committing yourself.

Nice hotel with good facilities, Food was reasonable and staff friendly. We stayed 3 night and found the hotel to be ideal for our needs. No major problems although get to breakfast early as standard of food drops the later you turn up.
Nightlife Tip : Take a cab to the town center in the area of Hotel Malaysia

In the centre of George town, within walking distance to the big shopping centre

This hotel is value for money. We were not expecting much for the amount of money we paid, but the hotel matches the 4 star standard despite of its cheap rate. Our room was on the top floor (16th floor) which is an added bonus because we get a view of the entire george town below. Hotel is located near to the city centre. To go the the touristy places such a gurney drive or batu frahalli night market, an inexpensive cab ride is available. Overall, i think it is a good choice of hotel, cheap too.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 10 RM on cab to most places within george town

Located in the middle of the city, convenient to look for public transport. Friendly reception and other services. No children (below 6 years old) swimming pool. Should consider to have a children swimming pool. Breakfast is ok, but the space is too crowded. This hotel is located in the middle of the city, where you can travel to the nearest shopping malls easily. It is also convenient to travel from here to many visiting places. The best part is you can eat most of the delicious and tasty local food just right down the hotel, walking distance. I will consider to stay here again for my next holiday trip to Penang!

- excellent service & food quality on classic club buffet breakfast
- free internet connection - mattresses need a change
- car park to hotel lobby only via staircase, inconvenient with luggages
- can be a little noisy even on 16th floor (noise from nearby night clubs/karaoke)
- slow internet connection generally, it was a pleasant stay. we booked altogether 3 rooms and we were upgraded to classic club floor room with breakfast served at a separate area. the food quality was exceptionally good and great service. only thing was we were expecting daily newspaper but there was none. this hotel is near to many eatery places, so finding food is not a problem at all from early breakfast to late supper. however, this hotel need some refurbishment to refresh its look and room amenities.

- lorong selamat very small pool and gym
breakfast - small selection, not very fresh
shower curtain had a stale smell
late checkout not available I would go back again for its excellent location. Especially if you are keen to experience Penang by bus. The free CAT starts at Komtar; RapidPenang interchange is there too - you can get to almost all attractions at a negligible price of 1-2RM per ride. Nice and clean buses!

The hotel's location is well situated. There are plenty of food near to the hotel. There are good food around the hotel's area. It is convenient to take the bus around georgetown too. I will come back to this hotel again.

Very clean and functional hotel close to bus terminal. some staff at front desk a lack some customer service skills...but breakfast staff are outstanding! Great 2 or 3 niter in heart of Penang. Close to bus terminal near Komtar (tallest building)building.IF going to cable car take I think bus 204 and if going to beach 101.Breakfast is good and the concierge staff very helfpul with cost saving tips on visiting sites and smells of Penang.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Have correct money for bus fares as the driver doesn't give change..So if your fare is $2.70, and you dont have coins, give 3x1ringgit notes...anything higher you will lose alot of change right?Saw a Chinese guy give a $10 note(into the money box next to driver) and get no change for a $1.40 fare...then was told by driver that there is no change...Oh ya, watch the service of Malaysians in general...nothing like the MH hospitality associated with airline..!

We are able to check in at around 9am+ even though check in is 2pm.
Hotel walking distance to Komtar, Prangin Mall and Time Square(quite new some shops not open yet)
Restaurant Tip : lots of coffee shops and pasar malam types of stalls around the hotels. But a bit oily for us.
Book taxi for 25RM per hour

2)It would be more convenience to provide at leat 1 computer for customer to check email or transfer pictures from camera to USB or their portable computer I have a great experience about my trip in Penang during 2 Oct - 6 Oct 2009. We make reservation of 2 rooms (Room 805 & 816)before our trip during above period (Ms Kwai, Ms Young, Ms Hon & Me~Ms Chow).
We supposed to take Air Asia 08:05 flight to KL on 06 Oct. Unfortunately, one of my friend (Ms Hon) find out she leaves her wallet & passport in Room 816 of Sunway Hotel,Georgetown when we get ready to check-in at Airport. We try to contact your hotel and they find out my frined's wallet & passport under pillow & one of your stuff who can speak little bit Cantonese (Sorry that I forget his name and please let me know his name cause we want to send a Thank You card to him), he promise will keep it for us until Ms Hon back to Hotel from Airport.
Finally, my friend (Ms Hon) get her wallet & passport back and she takes next flight to KL to join us at the same day. I just really appreicate the Honest & Excellent serive of your hotel. I will highly recommend my frineds to book your hotel when they go to Penang & of course I must book your hotel when I visit Malaysia next time.
