Price is very reasonable
Bed is clean
Location is strategic for dining Should not use carpet on the floor, the dirty will stay there. It's a good and comfortable hotel to stay even for longer period, due to its affordable price and convinient location to eat. Many variety of food you can choose to fill up your appetize.

Near to all the famous hawker areas Great place to be in if you want to taste the best of Penang but it got a bit overwhelming after the first day. I guess one has to really enjoy hawker fare but for me nothing beats home-cooked food! Near waterfall gardens you should stop by this Penang Batik shop for some nice batik. The owner organises fruit farm tours with fruit buffet. Tell them you were introduced by me and he may give you a good discount!
Restaurant Tip : Just next door to the hotel is the food. Stick to the right hand side hawkers in the evening. Go out the road and turn right, there's even more hawkers and the famous lorong selamat cendol and char koey teow is nearby. Eat to your heart's desire!

Well located very close to food & shopping outlets. Jus outside hotel are food outlets where u will find all popular local fare. You can even get seafood like sea shells of various types & grilled fish which is very fresh & excellent. The hotel provides a good variety of breakfast food. The carpets are rather dirty in some rooms and the toilets do not have ventilation fan. Restaurant Tip : Food at the stalls outside is cheap fresh, and delicious, try the various types of sea shells available from the stalls along the road leading to the hotel. Nearby is the famous sisters' char koay teow Noodles and also the famous Lorong Seratus tahun curry mee.

Spacious room and bathroom and walking distance to many variety of hawker food Not really well maintained. Additional bed requested was of very poor quality. We are a group of friends who decided to go to Penang to enjoy all the good food Penang has to offer. We chose this hotel as it is in the center of George Town and walking distance to most of the recommended good food. The price was also affordable. We found the reception very slow in response and service. The hotel looks like it is not well maintained. The room & bathroom is spacious but the additional bed that we requested was of very poor quality.
Restaurant Tip : Try out the Pork Porriage just outside the hotel food center

Location, room amenities, value We chose the Sunway because of the cost, and it did represent good value for our requirements. Check-in and check-out was rapid, and efficient. The room was comfortable, but looked a little jaded. Breakfast was a disappointment as there was a lack of variety, and it got dreary after a few days. There was a bit of noise from other guests which was mildly irritating. Location was very good near the centre of Georgetown. Staff were friendly.
Restaurant Tip : The hawker's market right next to the hotel served fabulous food

Very convienent to go around Penang. Very near to bus terminal and can get good food around the hotel.
Walking distance to shopping mall example Gama and newly open Time Square. Good buy if you need clothing at a reasonable price at GAMA one of the oldest shopping mall in the heart of Penang.
Food wise the best place is in Penang Road the Char Kwa Teow and Cheng do. Just opposite of Penang Road too can buy good Penang biscuit Hian Pia.

Superb location. Competitive pricing. Courteous and friendly staff. The hotel and the furniture and fittings have obvious sign of aging. Lack of parking space. No free wifi. A good hotel for both business and leisure. The wide variety and plentiful of local food just outside the hotel. My stay here has been pleasant and comfortable and i look forward to return on my next visit to Penang. However, they must make wifi/internet free and accessible to all rooms for the convenience of business travelers.

Good Location,Easy to find food to eat The location is near the Komtar (city centre). We took the bus from the airport and arrived the Komtar and then took a cab (abt $10) and reach the hotel. If walk from Hotel to the Komtar bus station is about 15 minutes. It's easy accessible. There are many snack food can be found just next to the hotel.But it is a bit noisy during night time.

Staffs are very helpful, last min i need another room for the next day, they try their best to help and they give me the same rate as i book from the net! The only thing is the Breadfast foods they serve in the Hotel that is included in when you book the room, eg. Nasi Lemak, there are no meat or vegetables, only peanuts, ikan bilis & chili.Is nice though, overall foods need improvement. :) This hotel is located in the heart of Georgetown, quite convientence, i can say. Hotel rooms are clean, staffs are friendly, most important thing is what we always look for to save, it's cheap! With this kind of standard, it consider cheap! But please do not raise your price when i say cheap! :))
Restaurant Tip : Foods can be found just outside the hotel, not resturant though, is coffee shop & road side stall, foods is nice! Can try!

ROOM IS COMFORTABLE. AMENDITITES ARE NORMAL AND ARE OKAY WITH US. LOCATION IS GOOD AND CENTRAL WITH EASY ACCESS TO MANY PLACES OF INTEREST. BREAKFAST IS POOR QUALITY. LACK OF STAFF TO CATER TO GUESTS NEED. NO STAFF TO ATTEND TO THE STALL MAKING THE ROTI CANAI. GAS FOR HEATING THE NOODLE STALL HAS RUN OUT AND NO ONE TO REPLACE THEM UNTIL GUESTS HAVE TO COMPLAIN. OVERALL I JUST LIKE THE LOCATION AND THE ROOM IS COMFORTABLE. STAFF IS FRIENDLY.

Staff were friendly,Response time excellent,,Very resourceful,Quality of food was above average. There were no mistakes on reservation nor billing. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, often willing to go the extra mile. Staff were very resourceful and obliging. Variety and quality of food was surely above average. Used their function room to conduct seminars and found the banquet staff to be very responsive to request and the hotel did go beyond the norm to help create the ambiance.All in all my ten days at the Sunway Georgetown Hotel was very comfortable.
Travel tip : Loads of night food stalls just outside the hotel. Very centrally located.

Hotel itself is a bit old but we found that the rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were clean and of adequate size too. Breakfast was ok. There is a hawker center just across the hotel, and lots of tasty street food nearby, especially at night. Overall, Sunway Georgetown is an acceptable mid-range hotel.

ideal location @ georgetown area , walking distance to all the main shopping centre like berjaya times square , prangin mall , komtar ...
moreover there r quite a variety of food stalls juz next to the hotel , n the food is very delicious wf local style ....... since we drived there for our last trip , thus we parked our car @ the htl car park , but the most troublesome thing is there is no lift access to the car park , we need to use the staircase to access to the car park instead , its super tiring & troublesome this is my first time staying @ sunway georgetown hotel , n i definitely will go back to the same hotel again for my next trip , coz its super ideal for those shopalholic like me who likes to shop a lot without wasting time on travelling to get to the shopping area , its just takes u bout 10-15min walking distance to get to the main shopping area ! moreover , there is no worry bout the difficulty of getting the delicious & cheap cheap local food when u are hungry coz there are a lot of food stalls selling quite a variety of foods next to the hotel ! the most important thing is the hotel is @ affordable rate oso !

Exceptionally friendly staff - at all levels. Excellent value buffet breakfast. Room somewhat shabby and in need of refurbishment. The staff, from the check-in at reception to the restaurant and the concierge, were helpful and willing to help with anything that was asked of them.
When there were problems with the computerised room key, it was no trouble to re-set the code, while, in the restaurant, both the manager and the waiting staff assisted in finding a suitable table. The bellboys were also instrumental in arranging transport for a round-Georgetown sightseeing trip.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit the Thai and Burmese temples, which are just opposite each other.
