The ground floor is absolutely fantastic. With the all see threw windows from restaurant to the sea and served the best 3 star hotel breakfast i ever stayed in Malaysia. Pool was quite good deep and the Jacuzzi is good too. Has their own private beach and not busy, good to relax.
As been told when I checked in all room is smoking room has no choice to just check in any one of them. Room was really smelly, old and can hear the outside noise from the road side. Same thing to the bathroom needed improvement.
1st time stayed in this hotel, and overall was good. Beside the bedroom which needed to improve a lot with the conditional and toilet. Most of the time just stay out the room and it has the really good view to the sea and nice pool and jacuzzi. The private beach is not busy is also good to relax and reading and feel the sea and the sun. The breakfast is the best of the best from the 3 star hotel I've ever stayed in Malaysia; the food is tasting good, hot and fresh with a really nice restaurant to see the sea view.

Nice features of the hotel was featured in the web site such as the front office facing the sea front
Furniture need to be refurbish or change to new one. The pillows are in bad state not fit for use. Linen are all worn out.
The whole experience was bad. Firstly as mention during booking rooms are having hill view . When we arrived it was a shock the room facing the traffic light and at road junction. Right infornt
of the fly over.We were unable to have a nice good night sleep as the noise from the traffic was bad. The furniture was all run down. Pillows was flat and need changing. Room smell stale although quite clean. Front Office staff was not helpful at all. Luckily it was only a night stay for my family and I. Will not want to stay there again.

the view of the beach very nice, the room service ok
there is no shampoo provided. They stick the bath foam onto the wall. my bath tub could not be used. Nobody fixed the problem.
I arrived at the hotel at 1.45, hoping that i could check into the hotel as it was nearly two as of the custom of many other hotels. Arriving from Perak with kids in tow, i was really taken aback when i was informed that the check in time was at 3.00. Ok, I waited and checked into the hotel at 3.00. When I was checking out, the receptionist spoke to the cleaner on the walkie talkie with a loud voice whether the room i occupied was in good condition or not within my earshot. Imagine my feeling. That was very insensitive of them. That had totally erased my good opinion of them.

Nice beach
Friendly staff
Ok location
great breakfast
old dated room
old bathroom with a few slightly damaged taps/handles
The hotel is in an "ok" location, however dont expect to be within walking distance of shops and night life areas!
A cab ride is necessary to get to any shopping complex and georgetown is quite far away.
The beach is however very nice! Pool is nice also.
The room is the hotels worst point, its clean however the carpets had iron burn marks, and all the furniture is very dated.. looks 70's or 80's!
The fridge wood door would not open properly and was half broken/split.
The bathroom was also very dated but water pressure was ok and it appeared clean.
The staff are very friendly and willing to help with various questions.
The breakfast was very good with fresh food and various styles in buffet from 7am until 10.30am.
Overall a nice warm safe hotel that needs to maybe update its rooms slightly!
Shopping Tip : The best place to shop is Gurney Plaza, quite a nice shopping complex. Take a taxi there and DONT pay more than 10RM for the trip... often the taxi drivers will try to rip you off... very bad.

Good foods, friendly staffs.
Quite old and need replacing; esp. the carpet and some furnitures.
We stayed for three days. This hotel has had it's ground floor areas refurbished and is lovely but the upper floors are still in bad need of repair. The carpet in the hallways are quite old, the furniture in the rooms are also old and i think need replacing. The aircond is too slow(not cool enough) though we had put the lowest temp. Anyhow, we have a pleasant stay.

private beach
nice breakfast
slow check-in
furnitures are old
For a 3*** hotel, this hotel has nice location, not too far away from town and has its own beach. there are several water sports you might want to try. Breakfast is good with variations. The check-in was a bit slow. we eventually got checked-in...

Staff were very friendly and the hotel was very good value for money. The rooms were clean and more than adequate.
Some of the restaurant staff need to improve english language skills especially if they are going to cater for english speaking tourists. There are few alternative eating spots nearby.
We stayed ten days at the hotel. We were very happy with most aspects of the hotel. Very well priced and excellent value for money. The buffet breakfast was very good. The menu for the restaurant needs reworking as it is fairly limited. The pool area is obviously designed for children but nevertheless adults could still enjoy the area. Staff were very helpful and obliging. A nice touch was the provision of a take away breakfast as we left very early to catch our flight home.
Travel tip : Chinese Swimming Club just up the road has an excellent and cheap restaurant.

Very beautiful seawview, good location, and reasonable price.
the water volume in bathrook is weak
At first, we booked this hotel because the price is cheap compared to other hotels near beach. However, it is so much nicer than we has expected. The hotel hall has a very beatiful seaview. The swimming pool is also clean and nice. Room is fully furnished and good for the price.Staff is okie. Good location
Travel tip : Take bus 101 to George Town for $1.5/person/way. It stops in front of the hotel.
The hotel provides shuttle bus to go to night market, Batu Ferringgi for $5/person/way (take a taxi for a cheaper price if you are with a group, $15/way)
Should visit some nice place like temples, penang hill...
If you have time, you could come to Langkawi for a day trip as well. The cruise leaves at 8.30am every morning and come back at around 9pm.

This is my first time going to Penang - Malaysia. I was traveling alone this time :)
The room were ok and i'm so lucky to get a room with view facing to ocean.
the breakfast were nice.. the service were awesome. the employee of the hotel been a great help during my stay. I really happy with the hotel
for the lounge they must consider the music, I think they should change the band and looking for a better one so people like to stay there and drink.
The room, the service, the facility and the staff are quite satisfying I really enjoy my stay in Tanjung Bungah hotel. I also like the layout of the shore restaurant (breakfast)because the have the terrace seat which facing to the beach. actually I recommend this hotel to my friends which going to penang by the end of July. if there's a pick up and transfer service from/to airport would be better.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the location of this hotel is right in front of the beach so it has the access to the beach with a great view

Right on the beach. Seaview room had a postcard view.
A solid 15 minute hike to the nearest convenience store. Hotel convenience shop very very small and of course very overpriced
First time in Penang and decided on the Tanjung Bungah based on it's location on the beach and relatively inexpensive cost. Night staff was accommodating but the day timers were a bit gruff and borderline rude. Breakfast was better than average with a good mixture of foods to not be boring.

Clean and tidy. Ask for a seaview room, its worth it and worth the xtra money.
Staff very helpful. Pool area very nice. Beach O.K. Gym O.K.
Nice bathroom and good shower. Good breakfast choice.
Limited menu on hotel restaurant.
Its way out of Batu Ferringhi but that suited us great we didnt like the place.
OUR BIGGEST TIP FOR ALL OF YOU:
DO NOT WALK FROM THE HOTEL TO THE GUERNEY PLAZA. IF YOU DO ENSURE THAT ALL YOUR VALUABLES ARE IN A RUCK SACK AND CARRIED ON THE INSIDE. WE WERE ROBBED AS WE WALKED DOWN THIS MAIN ROAD IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. A GUY ON A MOTORCYCLE CAME ALONGSIDE ME AND RIPPED THE RUCK SACK OFF MY SHOULDER. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES BEFORE ON THE SAME STRETCH OF ROAD ACCORDING TO THE MANAGER OF THE HOTEL. So please be aware. Its not the hotels fault but we have advised them to inform guests, I doubt they will. Penang is poor and they will ake any opportunity use the safes in the hotel and be very careful.
As above really. It ruined our trip to Penang.
We didnt want to venture out again. We didnt think much to batu Ferringhi either. Alcohole very expensive be warned!!! Food o.k but imited decent choice. Take the local bus into Batu Ferringhi its much cheaper than taxi and bus stops outside of hotel.

cosy room, hug swimmingpool, enjoyable breakfast and fresh coffee
first time I arrived with no voucher, onmyself, it was complicated to check in
Nice Hotel, not too big, friendly staff and almost private beach, not croudy as Batu Ferringhi and with the local bus in front of the hotel, easy to go to the center of Georgetown. Staff takes care about your questions. It was off season, but you get more as you expect for the money. In all I would suggest and I'll book again.
Restaurant Tip : Food stall are nearby the hotel.
