Staff in hotel were very friendly, room was nice and very clean, late check out was no problem at all free shuttle bus to batu ferrangi Food very expensive, no breakfast included seemed more like a four star hotel than a five star On arrival at the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, check in just took us 5 minutes. the free shuttle bus was fantastic as if you are looking to get to the beach then georgetown is quite far away!!Traders is in an ideal spot in georgetown and everything is within walking distance lots of food places and few shops around. The bus station is right around the corner and you can get a public bus to either queensbay mall and gurney plaza.
Restaurant Tip : kashmir restaurant on penang road does beautiful food especially the chicken masala however portions are quite small, another good restaurant across the road with loads of lights in it was great value and good food

Location, Well-Equipped Gym, Free shuttle bus to Shangri-la resorts at Batu Ferringhi, free use of facilities at Golden Sands Resort at Batu Ferringhi. The timing of the last shuttle bus from Golden Sands/Rasa-Sayang back to Traders should be around 8.30pm for tourists to soak up the atmosphere at the night market. The hotel is located in a very convenient location, just next to the Komtar Bus Terminal which makes travelling by bus very convenient. It is also within short walking distance to Penang Road and Macalister Road with lots of great hawker food/coffee shops. Besides that, guests can also take the free shuttle bus to other Shangri-la resorts at Batu Ferringhi for some beach activities or enjoy the facilities at the Golden Sands Resort.
Restaurant Tip : Opposite the hotel on Jalan Magazine, there is a "Tang Yuan" or Sweet Dumplings stall. Try it, it is good.

Excellent location, free shuttle to batu ferringi, nearby city location and mainland. Food stalls are within walking distance and transport to any direction of Penang is not a problem because of various intersections. Standard rooms seem small for a 5 star hotel and a little run down. Poor choice of pillows in the room which flattens the moment your head rest on the pillows. Thumbs down for TV programs including the local cable channels. Forget about the lunch buffet which cost RM45 per person, not much of authentic Penang flavour. Hotel is connected to Komtar, Perangin Mall and walking distance to eateries. Free shuttle coach to Batu Ferringi and from here, can take a Rapid bus 101 to Gurney Plaza (stop one junction before the mall) for excellent eateries and upscale shopping mall. To return back to the hotel, take Rapid bus 103 and it stops at Komtar, beside Trader's Hotel. Friendly hotel but room seems a little run down. Broadband in the room is slow and excellent wi-fi in the lobby. I will certainly stay at this hotel for both business and leisure. Rooms are expensive if you consider without breakfast and hotels nearby provides breakfast.
