This is the 1st time i been check in to Traders Hotel Penang.Chossing for this hotel becouse of the great location , the hotel serroundding with all the shoopping center like 1st Avenue , Komtar , Perangin Mall and etc...This is the graet choice for my Chinese New Year shopping trip..
But one thing no good is the room is a bit small and not really compare with the price ...but i am enjoying to stay in Traders hotel, Penang.

this was our second stay at traders penang and we were even more impressed the second time
service was outstanding nothing was ever to much, great facilities great food and great location
Travel tip:
Traders offer a free shuttle to their sister properties in batu ferringi allowing you to use the facilities as well this is a perfect option as it allows you to stay central in George town where all the action is and then take a trip to the beach side and use their sister hotels facilities is a mini break with in a break

convenient location
it is very central- within walking distance from the heritage zone, right beside a bus terminal, and next to shopping malls

i had read many reviews which said that the hotel was dated. but it didn't turn out that bad. true that the rooms don't have a flat screen led tv, but i'm not going to stay there for the entire period to watch tv right?
room was of decent size. the hotel is very centrally located. it took exactly 45mins to get to the hotel from the airport by bus (401e/102). the bus terminal is right beside the hotel, and you can catch free shuttle buses either to the beach or to the heritage zone. the heritage zone is within walking distance anyway. there's a few shopping malls surrounding the hotel. no luxury goods, but if you want cheap to mid range products, you have them all within the vicinity.
one minus was i didn't quite find much food options beyond the shopping complexes? there weren't any hawkers or coffee shops around the area. maybe there were, but i couldn't find any. i resorted to walking a good 10mins to kimberley road in the evening to settle dinner since i didn't want to have dinner in the shopping centers.
Hotel Feature Tip:
you'll need to pre book your slot on the shuttle bus to the beach (shangri la rasa sayang) or the cbd. last bus is 4.30pm for the bus back from beach to the hotel and it stops at gurney mall.
