The room and bathroom is big and spacious but the furnishing look more like a 3 * standard.
Empty fridge. Wi Fi only available at the reception area. Not value for money.

Buffet breakfast was great and staffs were friendly. Must try the omelette because I think it was one of the best I have tried in a hotel, surprisingly well done! The Italian restaurant also made wonderful pizza, another must try food on the menu. I will return to this hotel whenever I need a relaxed vacation.

This is a typical Malaysian resort-style hotel. Even though the Thistle is a foreign chain, they have applied a Malaysian-style star rating; ie. they call it a 5 star hotel although it's really only about a 3.5. The facilities are used to bump up the rating. There isn't much to do in the area, so it is intended that you will spend your day at the hotel. As such there is a fairly good range of activities every day, suitable for adults and kids. There are also in-house facilities like a kids' movie room, Wii room, nursery room and pool and table tennis tables. The breakfast was nice but there was no roti canai or nasi lemak! Unbelievable for a Malaysian hotel. Anyway, I'm a bit grumpy because the service was bad. We asked two times for them to deliver an extra bed to our room for the children. It never happened. Also they delivered the wrong newspaper to our room. Otherwise the hotel was fine.
