Great island. Good pool golf and gym.

Rooms 'tired'. 2 star standard.Value not as good as other hotels in KL for example.

Great island with lots to do....or relax and do nothing!! Hotel rooms 'tired' ...more like a 2 star. Staff very friendly. Food OK, but better is available in the restaurants just outside the hotel...and wine at duty-free prices!!! Gym well equipped, golf course well kept and challenging bearing in mind the monitor lizard and monkey hazards !!! Pool good. Beach in front of hotel clean and good.

Travel tip : Beware that the Berjaya Air baggage allowance is only 10 (yes 10!!) kilos.

It's a real resort with golf and diving. Transfer from the ferry and to the airport.

Price. Sand flies during low tide. Everything including bananas is imported, so sometimes there is no banana split for the desert

Staying in Berjaya was nice from the beginning. Just don't repeat our mistakes and look up for a white open bus with a driver in bright shirt to take you to the hotel from the ferry. We had to walk and it takes almost 30 minutes in the sun to get there by foot. Other than that everything was OK. Make sure you ask exactly where your room is located - maybe it was heat, maybe I was too stupid, but it took us like half an hour walking around the chalets looking for the one we needed. And I do strongly recommend eating at the hotel - the restaurants and cafes nearby are in no way a bargain and sometimes the food quality is questionable. Hotel also arranged nice trips to the coral reefs - efficient and at a reasonable price. Important not is to cover yourself with repellent if you decide to sleep right on the beach - sand flies are always there and you can't feel them when they bite. The next morning you'll be scratching all over with terrible wounds, stay safe. As for the hotel the reception was responsive, the chalet was clean and really nice, the main restaurant also serves nice buffet dinners. Room service was excellent as I can’t imagine someone cleaning up all the mess we left behind us.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Coral reefs - you don't want to miss them!

Best feature of the hotel is its location. good for kids

quality of the rooms varies depending upon their age. our Superior Chalet was "tired" but quite comfortable.

the best thing about this resort is the fantastic location, beautiful empty beaches and crystal clear water. Rooms vary depending upon age - some are not as new as the one shown on the website. Food in the restaurant is OK but you might want more variety after 5 days so go out of the resort to find one of the local Chinese restaurants. My wife and I stayed 3 nights as "research" to decide whether we would take our family there in 2010. As a result of our short stay we have now decided to go back to Berjaya Tioman Resort for 8 days at Chinese New Year 2010.

Restaurant Tip : there are several good and cheap local Chinese restaurants down the road from the result. Some of them are close enough to walk to. Otherwise rent a motorbike or "taxi" at the entrance to the resort.

Almost everything was available from within the resort itself. Friendly staff. Nice Pool, Beautiful Beach, Good Food.

Everything was a bit pricy compared to mainland Malaysia. No regular transportation to go outside the resort. My daughter was chased by a stray monkey while walking from the chalet to the restaurant for breakfast. She was a bit traumatized by the event. Luckily she was not hurt physically.

What I like most about Berjaya Tioman Resort is that almost everything was available from within the resort itself. Friendly staff. Nice Pool, Beautiful Beach, Good Food. For divers like myself, it was like heavan having a beautiful dive site just around the corner where you can watch turtle sleeping, giant jellyfish, swim side by side with turtles, etc. The pool is nice with good facilities for my kids. They enjoyed the slide very much! However there was no lifeguard there so we can't leave our children in the pool. Some improvement they can make is maybe offer a slight discount for long stay customers especially when it comes to the food at the restaurant. One small bad experience was that my daughter was chased by a stray monkey. Luckily nothng happened but she was really traumatized by the event.

Restaurant Tip : You can ask the chef to custome made your dinner if it is not on the menu and negotiate the price. They are also willing to cook a fish if you brought it in after gone fishing.

Resort is surrounded by lush tropical forest and golf course with sandy beach. There are two pools at the resort, one is quite small the other with slides and spa. Focus is towards family holiday experience and budget conscious.

The resort in general is run down and tired. Our room was substandard for a four star hotel, gaps in floor boards, leaking air-conditioner, reception service was slow. The food choice was very limited quite expensive and of average standard.

Berjaya Resort is a very large hotel complex with its own dive school, golf course, various room levels, pools, shuttles to city and certainly provides the complete holiday package however it has passed its best days and badly needs an overhaul. Resort restaurants are of average quality and buffet breakfast soon gets boring. The resort is close to the Turtle sanctuary which has a beautiful white beach and is more peaceful than the main beach. There is great snorkeling just from the beach or join the resort scuba school. Nights can find you at a loss as there is not much to do after the sun has set but the resort has a designated kid room, complete with table tennis, arcade games and pool tables just the ticket for the young at heart as well. Over-all you get what you pay for and although Berjaya is not cheap its not expensive either.

Restaurant Tip : Restaurants around the resort provide cheaper options.

Pool is great for children (2 slides) Comfortable rooms, nice room service. Food is good.

Not enough double kayaks, we could never get one. Long waiting time at eggs stand for breakfast. Baby-sitting was ok (baby cried a lot) but quite expensive. No

We had a really great time in this resort. We came with a 4-mth old baby and a 2-yr-old child, we could boil the water in the room for bottles. Nobody got sick. The 2-yr old really enjoyed the pool slides and the beach. I recommend this hotel for families, I would go again!

The marine life just in front of the hotel is fantastic. Monkeys and varans wander around. No mosquitos. Rooms are nice, quiet, food is great.

We could not dive with the resort because it was fully booked. We had to use another dive centre: not so convenient. The glass bottom boat was in very poor shape and we could not see marine life through the "glass"

We stayed one week and really enjoyed snorkeling around the hotel. Lots of tropical fishes and beautiful corals. We also could rent kayaks to reach Ringis Island where snorkeling was fantastic. We appreciated the location, the quiet and "wild" environment.

simple and unspoiled - beautiful beaches - friendly and efficient staff and good food - been there 10 times in 2 years - great!

None

Pulau Tioman is relatively unspoiled although a Marina and new warfage have recently been completed which is actually and improvement. The Berjaya Tioman Resort is lovely. I stay in the standard chalets which are good value, simple but very comfortable with nice bathrooms and effective split air conditioners, alternativly there are more luxurious cottage style rooms for a bid more. The Beach is endless and never more than a few people on it and the sea is glorious, sparkling clean and always 26o. I visit every few weeks and also enjoy it in the wetter season around Jan/ Feb when it is a lot quieter. All in all a great place for a break and it's duty free so drinks etc are very cheap.

Hotel Feature Tip : I prefer the older 'standard' chalets to the rear which are very quiet and seem more private.

Next to the sea, large compound, lots of trees, good layout

Food quality poor and very expensive ROoms were dirty, found cockroach in the bed and bathroom was not cleaned properly by housekeeping

Overpriced given the poor upkeep of room conditions and bad food quality. swimming pool very overcrowded as well. Food was very expensive, restaurant staff were very slow in terms of taking orders, arranging payment and all lingered at the back near the cashier rather than coming round often where the guests were seated ROoms were dirty, found cockroach in the bed and bathroom was not cleaned properly by housekeeping

The place has a pleasant feel to it with nice swimming pool area and comfortable chalets. Except on one occasion, the response to guest requests is good. Convenient transport to / from the jetty is provided.

There are no non-smoking accomodations available, and the resort is an industrial-scale tourist destination with high turnover. The bathroom was cleaned in haste and the toilet bowl was not properly clean. Opening times of the pool should be extended till later. The place is a pleasant hang-out around sunset but the pool is closed well before.

Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort can be recommended for those who are looking for slightly upmarket accommodation, and ease of access. The fact that it is the only International standard resort on the island makes that services are overall just standard because there is no competitive edge at that level (i.e. no alternatives are available in terms of resorts of similar class). The buffet breakfast choice is good, while dinner buffets are allright but not extraordinary. There is a good a-la-carte choice of dishes but the 'red snapper Bengali style' turned out to be salmon and was undercooked. As the unavailability of red snapper was not adviced in advance, true food lovers might face some unpleasant surprises. The tenderloin steak on the other hand, was done very well according to expectations.

Restaurant Tip : Food at the resort is fine but pricy given the fairly standard buffets offered. Just outside the entrance are a couple of value for money restaurants (one Chinese, one Malay) where you can eat local fish & seafood at a fraction of the cost in the resort

honestly: Nothing!

very bad hospitality. very unfriendly. it starts at the receptionist to waiters.

I was there with my girlfriend. Well it was our worst experience; we reached Tioman Island Berjaya Hotel at 2PM and had to wait 4 hrs!!!! I asked the receptionist around 4 times, they said its not ready yet. Finally they gave me the Key at 6PM and the lady was still cleaning our room! And hot water was not working! We had to move to another room. We booked Deluxe Chalet with Sea sight, and price was not worth at all. Spa prices is above 5 stars, it starts at 180 ringgit and above. The service less than a 2 star hotel. Beach was OK, but the rest of hotel area poor and even Food. There is no activity near the hotel besides jungle trekking. We are really sad that we spent the Summer Vacation in Berjaya Tioman Island. I will not recommend this hotel at all. Pema and Dawa From Switzerland.

The hotel has a great location. The beach was great. The pool was super.

The complex was a little tired, needing a revamp. Staff could have been a little more friendly.

We had a very relaxing time at Berjaya Resort. The room was very clean and comfortable and nice outside chairs. The duty free shop outside the resort is well location. Also the restaurants outside the resort are very good. The resort was kept very clean and serviced the room daily. A very nice place to go and relax.

Restaurant Tip : The restaurant outside the complex, on the right hand side, we had the best whole fish ever.
