it's a wonderful trip over here. the service of receptionist when i checking in. while she was arrange, they ask me waiting in cafe house and enjoy my welcome drink. i like the pool & the jacuzzi. the food of the restaurant near the pool also not bad. the most i love is the color of the sea. it's blue and green, so beautiful.
Nightlife Tip:
The only nightlife there is listen live band perform in the cafe house, it's quite bored. I you do not like this, you better plan something or bring something for your night.

Very pleasant resort with spacious rooms

We returned for a second stay as we had had a good time before. Again it was a very pleasant stay. Last year we took the ferr which took much longer than expected and also we had quite a choppy ride. This time we flew in from Singapore, this was great due to the short ride to the resort.
The rooms are pleasant and spacious. Our two connecting rooms occupy the whole 1st floor of the chalet, and it feels like a suite. The furbishings are a bit old fashioned and a little worn, but it's clean and we feel at home. The aircon and fan can be a bit noisy.
The beach is not so wide, there are deck chairs under the palm trees nicely overlooking the sea. The swimming pool is pleasant, next to the main restaurant. The choice of dishes there is ok. There are two more restaurants but as we like outdoor dining we did not go there.
We pre-arranged a dive at the diving centre to the island just off the coast, this was great with some turtles, a small shark and barracudas.
Next year we hope to return for a longer stay so that we can do a round of golf at the attractive golf course, and maybe some hiking or other excursions.

Delightful hotel on a beautiful unspoilt island.

we had a semi detached bungalow styled room with a front porch, however there was no outdoor furniture available. in the room the furnishings were simple and in keeping with an island resort.
there are a number of hotel restaurants to choose from and the breakfast offered a wide variety of western and eastern foods.
wi-fi was available in the main restaurant and in reception.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
the island is accessible by walking, if you don’t mind the heat and a bit of hard exercise, or by 4wd.

The only hotel at Tioman which has an airport transfer service.
Even though we have a little problem with the toilet, the room was good enough. Very good service almost everywhere, excepting the bar.
You can find a lot of activities there such as jungle tracking, sea fishing trip, diving and snorkeling. Also you can rent a motorcycle and take a trip around the island.
There is a beach, but be carefull because I stepped on the urchin. So you'd better use the swimming pool right beside the beach bar.
Travel tip:
Be careful on the beach, I stepped on the urchin there.

The trips you find cheaper outside the resort. The fish you can enjoy from the hotel sailed out 5 min. there is a ponton near a small island beatifull and you do not see the same fish at the marine which is free but you need at taxi there or walk in 30/40 min.

it is one of the oldest hotel around in tioman. it is very prominent and convenient as it is very close to the airport. the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel was very convenient for us. i was travelling with a group of girls for a relaxing weekend, there were nothing much to do in the hotel itself as the activities were all not well maintained. hotel is clean but facilities and decor were pretty old and boring. service were good, as the surprise birthday party organized by the staff in the coffee house next to the beach was good and thoughtful. all in all for a weekend escapad with a bunch of friend can be an ideal spot.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
you should definitely not miss the snorkelling activity around the island

berjaya resort is allocated at a silent and private part of tioman island , the sand was glittering accompanied with a beautiful scenery. i enjoyed my stay , the food was good , loved the facilities and the peacefulness. i witness my first shark and turtle encounter at a small island just opposite the resort. during the day we will be excited about our activities and at night it was peaceful and quiet.
Restaurant Tip:
there are a few good restaurant serving Chinese and Malay food just outside the hotel area. The convenient store is very pricey . there are a few convenient stores 5mins walk away from the resort that sells at a cheaper price. Ask the gatekeepers if you need directions.

berjaya resort is huge, and really set up for people who want everything they need at one place. all easily available, without experiencing too much of the real malaysia or tioman island. amazingly clean and very spacious rooms (we had a superior chalet) and over the top breakfast buffets with all kinds of foods. to really enjoy tioman (and pay less for food and drinks) you need to leave the resort and get outside the gates.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
get outside the resort to experience tioman. go outside the front gates for great food and cheap drinks (the resort is very expensive). get down to abc beach for a party, walk in the jungle, visit other beaches. otherwise berjaya is just like any other resort on any beach.
