Airport Access, Beautiful Setting, Great Food, Attentive and Friendly Service Insufficient Sun-bathing/ Outdoor Lounging Areas This is the perfect weekend getaway from Kuala Lumpur because of the availability of flights from Subang Airport to Tioman. The transfer is a breeze- quick and hassle free. From beginning to end, Japa Mala offered just what I was looking for. Peace and quiet, attentive yet unobtrusive service, and great food in a beautiful setting. There are only 2 areas that need some improvement: Firstly, more beach pavillions/ sun-beds for those who want to relax on the beach. There are only 3 at the moment with a capacity for 6 guests. The other areas by the pool, whilst nice are dark, away from the beach and because of proximity to jungle have mosquitoes to contend with. The Mandi-Mandi restaurant whilst brilliant for sunbathing, gets a little busy during mealtimes. Kudos to the resort though, for restaurant's versatility, form and function. Secondly, it would be good if the resort could look into ways to protect its house reef especially with regard to the proliferation of sea-urchin. There is a lot of dead coral.

- Gorgeous setting on beautiful Tioman island
- Comfortable villas with all amenities
- Excellent staff
- Very good food
- Nothing to do but relax! - Ants! Although we didn't have them in our villa or on the dinner tables, they're all over some common areas on the resort Overall, Japamala is a fabulous getaway from the real world, and we'd love to visit again. There is truly nothing to do but relax. The hotel offers a few excursions (excellent snorkeling, hiking) and has an excellent spa. The resort is small (12 villas) and quiet, lots of honeymooners. This is a perfect place to unwind.

nice location, beautiful beach, delicous food! perfect place to relax. very nice rustic chalets. two restaurants with delicious food (seafood and thai). very friendly personnel, nice breakfast with fresh made fruit drinks. beautiful beach with nice snorkeling grounds! its really a perfect place!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : do the trip to coral island! the beach here is perfect, white sands and really nice water!
