The guest house is located in the local island of Thulusdhoo where the Government regulations require that guests do not wear bikini or similar swimwear while in the area. However, the hotel can arrange excursions to picnic islands for guests where these restrictions are not applied
Transfer to Thulusdhoo Hotels
To reach the hotels in Thulusdhoo Island, a public ferryboat OR chartered speedboat can be arranged by the hotel for which payment will be collected upon check –in.
Please contact the hotel to book your transfer arrangement at least 3 days prior to your arrival. Your arrival and departure flight details and full names of traveling party will be required.

• Ferryboat takes 90 minutes to reach Thulusdhoo Island and costs approximately USD 4.00 per person roundtrip.

Batuta. There’s no words to describe. Amittey, Adu, Amu, Fatima, Selma, Luba, Shahid: thank you so much! You are the best guest house crew (more like a one big happy family) ever. We’ve travelled around the world here and there but never felt so home in any place. It’s a perfect place on a perfect island, delicious food and great people. We were there the end of December-January, had the best time ever chilling out, snorkeling, island hopping and chatting with all the lovely people in those beautiful surroundings. We missed the place right after we left it behind. Keep up the good work and see you soon! Maria&Mario
Travel tip:
If you are looking for a party island, this is not your place. Bikinis and alcohol are not even allowed, it's for people looking for authentic experiences and interested in the nature and local life style. It's all about the beauty and tranquility.

Great value for money and friendly staff

With only 5 rooms, the guest house provided us with a intimate feeling. Actually, as it wasn't high season for surfing yet (late Dec), we were the only ones staying there for most of the nights. The staff is very friendly and the island is small but loved the feeling walking around in the village, being the only tourists.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Didn't have too much activities to offer more than surfing, which was limited at the time and fairly advanced. The Variety Stay could offer more such things and a "proper" restaurant.

Come to Batuta to experience the REAL Maldives

I stayed 4 nights at Batuta in December and had a fantastic experience. Shahid and the staff treated me like family --- we shared meals together and they were always willing to answer my questions about the country. They even arranged for me to play in a local football match. I hope to return in the future and would recommend Batuta to those who want to experience Maldivian culture.
