Lovely place and hotel, but average service.
I like the food&juice. Half of the bathroom is open-air, which feels great.

We didn't get the room we booked.
I booked 2 nights of Beach Bungalow first and 2 nights of Water Bungalow after that. But it turned out that we were only able to stay in the Beach Bungalow for the final night on the island. The reception told us there was no Beach Bungalow available, and offered us water bungalow as a free upgrading. That was not what I want but I had to take it. I met other ppl who faced the same problem there.
The view is fantastic.
I love the activity of BBQ. We went to another island, and snorkeling was awsome there, there were so many beautiful fish in the sea. Be sure to take your waterproof camara.
The dolphin activity is not as excited as expected.
Restaurant Tip:
Half board is enough, I think. We didn' feel like eating during travelling.

imagine to my disappointment when i get off the boat and get presented with a memo explaining that because i haven't booked my hotel through atoll adventures that i couldn't surf.not one thing is on either agoda's website or chaaya dhonveli's about this fact. the staff there were happy to explain that if i paid they would be happy to let me surf. when i reluctantly agreed i was only to be stung again saying that it was a daily rate.talk about being over a barrel. i would have booked somewhere else knowing this prior to booking.
all that said it still is a lovely place and they island is beautiful and the staff helpful and friendly.
i just wish they could post that surfing is not included or has a hefty surcharge assosciated with it. conversely put a link to atoll adventures on there so that you can book through them without any of the confusion that i endured.

Good relaxing hotel
Very friendly staff, good food, reasonably priced wine plus a great pasta chef who makes a killer Bolognese sauce.

Over all we enjoyed our stay in the over water suite. Room is good but needs a bit of work especially on the upkeep of the wooden outside deck. Good selection of tv channels from all over the world.
There is only one place where you can use the Internet and that is in the surfers bar which is usually very noisy with music and the strong sound of the waves. This made it impossible to Skype our family. In this day and age we would expect to have wifi in our room especially for the price we paid.
Travel tip:
If you are looking for nightlife this is not the place for you.

Best Price for Water Bungalow
Water Bungalow was lovely and spacious. Friendly staff and decent food.

We wanted a bungalow over the water and this was the best one we found as the others were way too expensive. The service was great and the chefs took alot of pride in their cooking. Although the food is buffet style - each night the cuisine was different and the food was good (but not gourmet). You can also select other options for dinner at an additional price. The snorkeling in the bay was surprisingly good, as we saw a great deal of variety every day. Wish they had ski jets, but that is our only complaint. Will definitely come back again.
Hotel Feature Tip:
This hotel is 20 minute speed boat trip from Male airport, so the cost of the transfer is reasonable. Flights to locations further out is very expensive. Try to get full-board or all-inclusive if you can.

Room is ok, but the island is beautiful

The services in resort is expensive compared to its quality.
The sea is just awesome, esp when you book water bungalow. Only 1 minute, and there you are, with the coral reef.
Nightlife Tip:
Go sunset fishing. It s quite cool. We caught 4 fishes during 2 hours.
Surfing is rock as well.

I live in a Water Villa, the room is big enough for a couple, you can see the sea view inside the room. The food in the restaurant is not as good as expected.
The beach is good for snokering.
Shopping Tip:
their is a shop in the hotel but quite expensive, better bring along you own mask and shoes for snokering

Had a very enjoyable 4 day stay in one of the beautiful water bungalows, lots of water based activities, also the food was very good.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Bring your own water shoes(jellies) and swimming goggles ect as prices in hotel are quite expensive.

poor service, minibar asked to be restocked and never was, paid for airport transfer but this was not made to my needs and to hotel policy, never mind who pays for the service!

Lovely hotel with great view and best service

This was our frist island in Maldives, we stayed in Water Suite for 3 nights, what wonderful days! Frist,room was so big and with Jacucci. Privacy was quite good too, we spent a lot of time having sunbath in our balcony, water was so clear and blue around the suite.Second,sevice was very good,we had our own table in the restaurant,and we could feel that every staff smiled to you from heart. Thrid, because we also have been to Diva, I thought Chaaya was more worth the price.
