Great Location but Overpriced Food

we stayed at this hotel two nights and it was a really nice experience. in particular, if you happen to travel with young children and do not want to take long speed boat rides or sea plane rides from the international airport then this is an ideal location for you. it is quite close to the airport, which is around 15mins by a speed boat. the island is covered by a break water which makes it a safe place to swim around even if you are not an expert swimmer.
on the cons side, the biggest problem was the overly expensive food and beverages in the hotel. if you are not on a fill board basis then expect to pay quite a lot of money for even a very simple meal. ordering from the room service might be a good option because buffets are rather expensive (62 usd per person). also you are not allowed to take any liquor into maldives. which means you will have to purchase all your liquor from the hotel itself. this is also a very expensive option if you love your beer. being close to the airport means there will definitely be a lot of noise generated by the air planes taking off and landing.
even with the above cons we enjoyed our stay (we were expecting these cons and were mentally prepared for it) at this great hotel.

Great personnel and atmosphere

Everything went very smoothly. Loved the location of the deluxe room (an unobstructed view of the water from the front porch). All the meal options give great flexibility to meet one's needs. Ended up not using anything but the breakfast included option and paying ad hoc for meals at the cafe. The hotel staff were unfailingly and quite genuinely happy and greeted you whererever you went. Sitting on our porch one morning, a staff member cleaning up plant debris found a coconut and cracked it open for us to drink and eat. The meet and greet the staff evening was a lot of fun. It is very close to the airport and there is noise from the departing and arriving planes. The closeness can be a plus or a minus depending on your needs. A beautiful setting overall. Enjoyed the gym facilities.
Travel tip:
Don't pay for a snorkeling trip. The snorkeling around the island is just as good.
More northern atolls have different, more varied wildlife on dives if this is your focus for the trip.

Lovely Hotel and Great Service
The service is exceptional from the pickup at airport to droping the guests back at airport. Snorkeling was great.

stayed for two nights. great hotel with great service. food a bit on the expensive side. deluxe room was great and right at the beach. snorkeling gear is given free of charge and the snorkeling instructor charith is great. beautiful reef and we loved snorkeling around the resort. missed the sunset cruise due to bad weather. overall it was a great place and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great resort near Male

We stayed at the Kurumba for 5 days in a cottage near the beach. At first we were a bit disappointed that we weren't that close to the beachfront. But looking back it was much better this way, we were still in walking distance of the beach, but because it was not directly at the beach, there weren't a lot of people walking by our cottage.
Great (quiet) beaches, not too many people. Restaurant selection and quality was very good even though I got a bit sick after eating the pasta prepard by the cook at the buffet restaurant (tip for the management: don't leave seafood out on the buffet without refrigeration).
The staff was reasonably friendly, but I had expected a bit more from a resort like this. It's not that they were rude or anything, but they didn't really seem to care that much as well.

The hotel staffs are nice. This trip is for my husband's birthday. The hotel provide free sunset cruise for us and a birthday cake during dinner time. It's our relaxing and wonderful experience. But the resort activities are not enough.

overall everything was very pleasant. arrived at male airport, was whisked to the speedboat, which only took 15 mins. check-in was fuss-free and the resort seemed very quiet even though we were told it was almost full. very nice beaches. buffet breakfast was ok. room service was good too.

The Island itself is a beauty. Nice rooms, nice bathrooms, excellent restaurant facility, excellent management & its staffs.

It was a great time for us to stay at this resort. Its very convenient from Male Airport. Very clean rooms and the whole resort. I think the management understand very well about the traveller's choice/demand. Very much well organized every places whether inside the room or outside the room. Very friendly staffs are always ready to help the customers. I think everybody will enjoy. Another good thing is the room make up two times a day. But the price of the food in different restaurants are a bit high. It should be less 20% or the quantity should be higher. Many Bangladeshi staffs are working with their high job satisfaction and always praising their Boss.
Overall we are highly satisfied to stay here. And hope to visit again inshallah

Lovely hotel and service with a smile

We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will probably stay at Kurumba again should we go back to the Maldives. The resort is beautiful with many activities. The food in all the restaurants were excellent although a little pricy. Altogether 'n great venue!
