Our experience at Six Senses was everything we hoped for. The staff was wonderful up until we tried to actually leave :-). Do plan for and expect some possible challenges getting to and from the resort. While the Six Senses staff are great the local transportation is outside of their control and is unfortunately not that reliable based on our experience.
The house reef is great and the water sports center is excellent with lots of options for great ways to enjoy the island waters.

Hotel Feature Tip:
Be SURE you get the room you want. They've recently reclassified ocean villa from lagoon villa, first room they put us in was clearly a lagoon villa, and we had to wait one day to get in to the villa we had booked & paid for.

Fantastic Resort with service oriented people

My wife and I stayed in the beach villa at Laamu for 5 days. There was nothing we could ask much more on our honeymoon stay as well to as to celebrate her birthday. Our GEM, made sure that everything was as comfortable as we could get. He even assured us that he is 24h on standby, anytime and anywhere. The sandbank dinner was memorable. The snorkeling was fantastic! We missed it but you must catch their dolphin sighting tour. All the meals on the island was beyond our expectations. I still miss the food there.
If you love nature, this island is everything green, from the bicycles to the pathway towards the restaurants and the food is really healthy. They grow their own vegetables on the island too! Personally, I like the idea of having bicycles. Though our villa was a distance away from the restaurants, we could reach there in a matter of minutes for our meals and activities we signed up for. We enjoyed ourselves on an island exploration tour to the end of all the jetties, taking photos and basking in the sun. Not to exaggerate the facts, the island was only about 750m long.
If you're a couple going on honeymoon, this is a great place, we totally enjoyed the privacy facing the beach and reading a book at the same time. You don't have to plan what to do, it's simply relaxing. You really feel cut off from the world and enjoying it. Though we knew the resort was operating at full capacity, we hardly saw much people around most of the time, except during meal times. it really felt comfortable, without the jostle and waiting.
Fortunately or unfortunately, our flight was delayed while returning from the domestic airport, which has never happened before. No flights could take-off or land which rendered us stranded. The resort didn't leave us at the airport but took us back for another 2 nights, complimentary. It was definitely good will on their part and excellent service standards from them. We certainly didn't complain about the flight delay.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Get the beach villa if you could. Otherwise, the Ocean villa at the far end of jetties would offer more privacy. If it's once in a lifetime trip, don't mind forking a bit more.

if you like snorkeling on the reef, choose Jetty A, it's the closest one to the best reef point on this island, if possible take the villas on the end of the jetty to keep the clear view of the ocean.
Delicious food in every restaurant on the island, big nice villas.

My husband and i stayed in Six Senses for a week and we absolutely loved this place. The villa was beautiful,very private and had everthing you may need. The resort had everything you could ask. The food was sensational. The staff were very friendly. Excellent service!! Would recommend everyone and love to go back again..

My family had wonderful and peaceful 5 days in Six Senses Laamu. Hotel Staff are very kind and really trying to make us comfortable throuhout the stay all the time. Water Villa is great but I think staying on beach villa would be also nice to enjoy sands with young kids (if you have young kids to go with there).
