Fantastic Marine Life
Only 15 minutes by seaplane from Male Airport. Beautiful beaches and excellent staff.

This was one of our best ever holidays, but we are unlikely to return. First the good stuff, we stayed for 6 nights and during that time we swam with Sharks, Turtles, Eagle Rays and some amazingly beautiful marine life. From our Villa terrace we saw Dolphins,a Manta Ray and regularly had up to 20 Sharks milling around in the lagoon behind our Villa. Our main reason for saying that we would not return, was the food. Overall the variety was quite wide, but we found the quality very average at best. However our biggest disappointment was the curries. The chefs all come from Sri Lanka,India or Maldives and should be able to produce a good variety of curry dishes. Having had the benefit of eating curry on previous trips to The Maldives we were really looking forward to this aspect of our holiday. Instead we were offered either a fish curry or vegetable curry at lunch and dinner every day except one. Every curry tasted exactly the same and in all honesty we felt like it was meant for the staff canteen. Very disappointing.Our Villa was nice, and very clean. We did however have quite a few maintenance issues over our stay. The Jacuzzi didn’t work and had to be fixed. It then wouldn’t turn off and we had to listen to the buzz of the motor at regular intervals. None of the lights on the Jacuzzi deck worked. We had to call maintenance to come and open to doors to the balcony as the bolts were no aligned, and then of course wouldn’t lock again after. All the problems were very small and trivial, but there were many and we felt embarrassed to keep calling time and time again. In the end we just put up with them, but not really what you expect for the price. The room was comfortable and the view spectacular at sunset. I won’t dwell on the Jacuzzi, but like many others have commented, it really wasn’t very nice sitting in it knowing that it was someone else’s water, whilst inhaling the fumes from heated chlorine. We only used it once. The staff are truly excellent.

Pros: Wonderful resort, Amazing rooms, great food, friendly staff, good service.
Cons: Walking from rooms to bar/restaurant area was too far. House spirits offered in the all inclusive should be of better standards for an exclusive resort! No free wifi!
Recommendations: full board and pay for your own drinks!

i regret that we had a minimal 2 day stay, due to schedule constraints but i am most happy that we were able to enjoy and make the most of it in our short stay. we enjoyed to the maximum level. can't ask for more but planning to go back again someday :)

The stay in the hotel was good, one main thing lacking the the free wireless internet services. the rates are a bit steep, then again the service and friendliness of the staff was very good. On the whole, had a great time.

Amazing and unforgetable moment

The beach view are fantastic. We love the condition in Veligandu. We took the All Inclusive Package, in OverWater villa and it was very worth it. We can drinks from Minibar freely (some beverages not included), we can have special sunset cruise and local villager tour (Rashdoo island). The sunset cruise is special because we can see the dolphines from close. Thanks to great skill of Veligandu staff to find the dolphines. The fishes were also so many during snorkelling. The food were also very nice. Everything was good. Thanks to Veligandu that made our wedding anniversary was so unforgetabble.

I was very impressed even before I checked in. they agreed to make slight changes to my stay without any additional cost.
When we landed in Male we were assisted to a superb lounge in the sea plan departure terminal. Very friendly staff made sure that we were comfortable while waiting for the sea plane transfer.
check-in at the hotel was seamless. we were greeted with drinks and or luggage were transferred to our room with ease.
The food here is excellent , given that it is in the middle of the ocean still you get most of the items which you would find in a 5 star restaurant in any city.
The view from sunset jaquzzi villa is just awesome make sure you put in the room preference when you are booking the hotel. :)
We were impressed and would definelty consider going back to the resoirt again.
