i and my wife had a wonderful 7 days holiday at this resort. we were in a beach villa 138. awesome evenings and nights. i used to love the wonderful sight of the asian wok restaurant in the evening and at night. beautiful weather during daytime. crystal clear water in the lagoon. the wonderful experience in the spa.. over all it was awesome.. some tips for travelers: and yeah we started missing indian food after sometime as there are not much (north)indian items in the menu.. vegetarians may have less options in food..
Hotel Feature Tip:
the all inclusive plus package @usd per person per night proved little costly for us as we don't drink much. also limited items from the menu are included in the ai plus package. no branded alcoholic drinks are included, only in-house drinks. and in the non-alcoholic drinks also very few items are included. so it's better not to upgrade to this package unless you are a heavy drinker...

had a fantastic stay, really enjoyed every minute of it, the house reef is just breath taking, swam with turtles, manta rays and reef shark, will recommend vilamendhoo to any one, a must see, kinda place!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
They organise some great excursions, we went on the manta ray and turtle trip one day and the snorkelling excursion the next day, and they seemed to have taken us to the same spot on the previous day, so paid twice for the same thing, however was still incredible.

vilamendhoo is a perfect place to go. nicely situated in south ari atoll. good size of resort - not to small and not to large. we booked the jacuzzi beach villa and a real benefit of this was the restaurant which is assigned to the jbv and jacuzzi water villas. the restaurant is smaller and much more cosy then the "main" restaurant. the villa itself was in very good condition and the overall service was nearly perfect.

Arrival went very smooth, we were greeted by a representative who escorted us to the TMA lounge where we waitied for our seaplane. The lounge was a very nice compliment which we appreciated alot after our flight.Check in went rapid we stayed in a garden room, the most basic one. It was somehow smalll yet very convenient and safe for our 2 year old.
The room service was great it was cleaned twice a day.
The full board option was great with a kid and we did not need the all inclusive. The pool was also good however our kid only used the baby one as the other one's min depth is 150 cm. The beach is is nice on the asian wok part and on the spa side. However it would be great if they conisider a play area or a kids club. There was a games room with snooker and baby foot however it was not age appropriate for our little one. We once used the baby sitting service after our son got to sleep and the lady was very nice. The service was good, you got to choose your table at the restaurant which yu will not choose also the waiter for the whole stay. Our waiter was not very friendly but I saw others who were, the reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. I did a great search about hotels in the maldives and did not regret choosing this one. The faood had a lot of variety however some days it was more tasty than the others. Our bill at the end of the stay was not much at all thanks to the full board option. We had a very nice stay but if I go to the maldives again would like to try another island fo the sake of change only.

My wife, my son (aged 3) and I had an amazing time at Vilamendhoo last week. The place is beautiful, picture-postcard perfect with great facilities. The snorkeling is excellent and ultra-convenient. The rooms were good and thanks to the staff for accommodating our shift request as the first room we had was not private enough. The one minor crib I had was that the welcome at reception on the first day was not welcoming enough - it seemed like the lady was rushed and had other things on her mind.

Overall our stay was very good with a couple of exceptions, the Bathroom had a bad odor the whole week we were there, everyone had their hands out for tips no matter how big or small the chore was even if it was something that should be included with the stay. Scuba Diving was through the Euro Divers and very expensive, on the other hand the staff was very friendly, they also had their hands out for tips and they tell you also. Even in the welcome brochure they tell you who and how much to tip. I'm sorry but you pay good money to stay at what you think is an upscale Resort and everyone has their hand out, made me feel like I stayed at a downscaled shady resort.

We were a family of 5 persons, we took 2 rooms. Lovely beach villas, a few steps away from the beach. 2 of us did get a rash, doctors say it might be bugs. Not sure whether bed bugs or island bugs. The room looked clean and all in all the resort was very clean.

We enjoyed our stay. If you are a heavy user of internet, this may not be the right place for you, charges are kinda high. no free wifi anywhere.

Only issue is smell of food during lunch and dinner was surrounding our room. Also Internet a bit pricey. We needed Internet for work unfortunately, but all in all a great vacation.
