Great Location, Poor Resort, Needs maintenance

This would have been a nice resort when it was fist built but now its very worn and in need of a lot of maintenance.
The lack of this resorts maintenance actually caused me serious injury on the 2nd day of my honeymoon I fell through a rotten wooden deck step that steps down from the balcony into the water. Serious lacerations were caused to my leg in multiple locations.
The good things about this resort were how quiet and secluded it was and large room but that is about it…
Staff are very robotic and inflexible to customers requests.
Guest relations manager "Radmila" has an attitude problem and is very rude when we asked why our particular room request was not even considered. Be aware guests cannot swim in the resort pool any night as it is next to the restaurant and the staff tell you the pool has chemicals in it every evening. This prevents the people at the restaurant being disturbed but denies guests a swim in the pool at night. Bar staff are unaware of the advertised happy hours and buy one get one free cocktail evenings and seem to make up their own rules. When I fell through the rotten step of the Super Deluxe Aqua Villa and cut my leg open in 2 places the staff & resort did not even seem concerned and did not offer any form of compensation due to the resorts neglectful maintenance causing me serious injury on the 2nd day of our honeymoon.
Eventually after my constant complaints about safety concerns the manager Abdulla decided to upgrade us to have free dinner for the remainder of our stay.
This was not much compensation given the food is very tasteless
There were also many other decking boards on walkways and our balcony that seemed very soft and will probably give way and break when one of the resorts future customers step on them. If you are staying there please please be aware of this and be careful of the rotten deck boards all around the resort. The wrong step may just send you to a Maldivian hospital.
I am unable to recommend this resort at all

awesome water villa's sunset side

To be honest the Super deluxe aqua villa's were absolutely amazing, we stayed on the sunset side as you can snorkel right in front of your villa. This resort is quiet and good for privacy.
The resort does need regular maintenance and for a 5 STAR resort it really needs to pick up its act in customer service, the bar staff and restaurant staff aren't really flexible and there is no consistency in how the cocktails are made and food is not great and not worth what you pay. In saying that my wife and I were on our honeymoon and had high expectations but sadly they were not met.
Pros - Location, water, super deluxe aqua villa, massages
Cons - Pretty much everything else, food was the most disappointment and we are food people.
To Zithali - More variety of food is required and definitely more seafood. Your staff have no idea about anything and seems like they are working from a instruction manual. Please train your staff.

well worthy of money

we stayed at the deluxe aqua villa. the room is of modern design and very spacious, with the gigantic bath tub. we enjoyed both sunset and sunrise just at the balcony. the staffs were very nice and friendly. i left my necklace in the safe and they helped to find it and mailed back to me. the dining is not expansive on the island but the food is very delicious.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
the only thing is there are not too much coral around the island. but you can join the snorkeling safari to a close island and enjoy the ocean world underneath. we saw big corals and crowds of fish.

Perfect Escape

This small resort with only 50 rooms was perfect for our stay. Even though the resort was full we still felt the island was our own. The room was huge and in great condition with an immediate access point to the underwater world. As for the bathroom... there is nothing quite like sitting in your Jacuzzi with a glass of bubbly catching the last of the sun for the day!
The room has a stunning deck area with a sunken infinity pool. The pool is quite small but perfect for taking a plunge when the heat gets too much or, if you are into diving/snorkeling, it is also great for keeping you gear clean. The food was mostly good and having sampled both restaurants you would not be missing out on much if you were full board. We would highly recommend Zitahli to anyone looking for peace and quiet, great diving and snorkeling, and of course, to spoil yourself rotten!
Hotel Feature Tip:
Go for the Aqua villas on the "sunset side" you get the best view of the sunset and you are right on top of the best of the house reef.

Service is poor and the manager is very rude

1.Service: The manager is rude and staff are not kind. Under their rules, if your room is not ready by the time they told you, "you have to wait. It sort of made me feel helpless at that time but I couldnt find anywhere to complain about the service to. Plus, wireless wasnt working properly.
2.food:there were only two restaurants which left not much choices for us.
3.transportation: after a 9 hour flight, it is absolutely not a good idea to take a 55min seaplane. Plus, ususally it takes even longer on the seaplane since other guests need to get off.
4.cleaness: the rooms are dirty.
Hotel Feature Tip:
wireless is poor. better prepare enough movies instead of downloading there.

Amazing relaxing experience in the best hotel ever

It was amazing experience for me and my wife as it was our honeymoon. The hotel is very romantic especially the Mosaic restaurant at the pool. It is more than amazing and you feel like VIP from the staff treatment. I enjoyed one day trip to local island with snorkeling activity. The food is good although it is very expensive. I paid daily 250 USD for me and my wife for dinner. The in-villa dinning is not good at all. The open dinner at breeze restaurant is very good but expensive and what is good is that they do different themes everyday. I really enjoyed the stay. If you like vital life and night life so it is not the right place to visit or in other words do not go to Maldives at all. IT is a place for Romantic isolated moments where you can extremely enjoy the honeymoon. I enjoyed having our private pool in the villa. It is highly recommended for Muslims who want privacy for Hijab.

take some nuts with u as this will assist you withstanding the hunger during the day until the dinner time
