A hotel good to stay overnight
7.3
We stayed overnight on transit to Hilton Iru Fushi as our flight was arriving pretty late in Male. The hotel is quite close to the airport and is just a few steps away from a beach. The hotel room is clean but quite small. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. But, the breakfast was pretty bad. I complained it to the management team and they had promised to work on an improvement. Hope they will keep the promise and they should if they want to keep their business... there are many new hotels coming up around the area.

we arrived in male airport around 2am and were met by the loona hotel driver. just a 10 min ride to the hotel. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the room we had was very small - not much larger than the double bed but we just needed it overnight before catching our next morning flight. the bed was comfortable and the hotel staff helped us connect with the seaplane flight.

Clean but crowded room
convenient stay for an overnight on the way to a resort, when plane gets in too late for seaplane

Not very pleasant. It's on a "new" island with the airport, but nothing going on in town, barely a place to eat. Next trip we will try to schedule our trip to Maldives to avoid this overnight leg. That being said, this hotel looked to be about the best available.

Great option as a transit hotel

I really liked Loona hotel. The staff is super sweet and they have everything set up for you on your arrival. Our favourite was "the boy" meeting us at the airport. When you have no expectation whatever and you land at night time in Male airport you might feel a bit insecure of things and taking in the environment, but when we met up with "the boy" i felt relaxed. He explained that we had to wait in order to get our transport to the hotel which he apologized for but was of no problem at all for us.
There is a reason you might have to end up waiting for it. Only taxi-companies are allowed picking people up at the air-port and there are not many of them, so imagine yourself having a couple of airplanes landing at the same time and a lot of the passengers will have to have a taxi....
Loona is a small hotel on the airport island mostly serving transit passengers on their way out to the resort islands. You can tell they have really put an effort to make the rooms comfortable with an eye for details. The room is clean, the bathroom is clean. And yes, it looks exactly like on the pictures here.
The best part was the service and how they informed us of our departure and making sure we would find our way to the right resort "booth" the following day when we were leaving to our resort.
For the money spent on Loona hotel, it was worth it. This is what you pay and this is what you get. This is Maldives.
Great job and a big thank you especially to "the boy" at the airport.

Warm and ready-to-assist staffs

for us who wanted to visit maldives over the weekend, the hotel is good enough to move around going to male and other neighboring islands.
the manager was also helpful when we told him that we would like to go for snorkeling and diving. even if our notice was almost 11pm, he was able to arrange it the following day.
ferry is accessible and operating until 1am. upon knowing this, we were able to enjoy and roam around male & villingili island without having to worry how we can get back to hulhumale.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
i suggest you check with the hotel since they can arrange everything for you. snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. price is negotiable too.

the hotel was cheap and served our purpose for transition to our island resort. once inside the hotel things were fine, however restaurant in hotel wasn't open for dinner and choices were limited around hotel. im sure we were the only guests at the hotel for the night! close to airport though which was good. did not need to catch a ferry!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
we would recommend to anyone travelling to maldives to book flights to and from so you do not need to stay on mainland before heading to islands. we felt a little uneasy walking around the streets. people on mainland were not the most friendly.

Great location
Friendly staff, opposite beach
8.3
Stayed 2 nights in Loona Hotel after arrival in Maldives while waiting for dive safari. Transport provided to/from airport with no hassle. Staff at hotel friendly and helpful and offered to organise diving/snorkelling/sightseeing excursions during stay. Lovely view of beach from room which was clea and adequate for 2 night stay but maybe bit small for longer stay. Good value for money before/after going to resort/dive boat.

It was a pleasant stay. very short transit purpose. Reasonably priced. Nothing to wow about but good transit hotel for travelers who needs a transit hotel to transfer to Maldives resort in the morning.

Great transit hotel
Very close to the airport, clean, comfortable

we stayed in loona hotel for a night as we arrived in the maldives a day earlier than expected.
the hotel was on the same island as the airport, which was nice as we wished to be close (10 min car ride).
don't expect 5 star service or food, as it is transit hotel.
the room was a bit small but the bed was comfortable. we were just looking for a place to rest/wash up before heading out to our resort the next day.
breakfast was included, but nothing amazing. toast, cereal, chicken sausage, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee. it was just some food to fill the stomach.
