The guest house is where if all happens 6.7 The only place to be in Inlay,this shabby guest house is by the market and the temple. A handy bridge over the canal is right outside the door. There is no dining room,so eat breakfast at the place over the bridge. Don't eat next door - they don't show prices in the menu,and we all know what that means.The staff are friendly and helpful.Electricity and water can go off at any time,but don't worry,they come back on again. It is ridiculously expensive considering the facilities. This is the real thing,so not for the faint hearted. But remember- position,position,position
John W. Solo travelers United States of America, March 02, 2013	Good service, location has strong and weak points. Inn right along a canal and centrally located to some of the bigger lake items. Venice like with nice suite of eating places nearby. Staff real helpful at times. 7.7 Overall a pretty good stay. Understand that the Inn is right next to a large Pagoda. A tourist attraction on the lake but can be a hindrance to ones sleep. Probably best to go to bed a little early and prepare for the 4 to 5 am monk chanting. Of course, one doesn't get that everyday so provides a unique experience. Water pressure also can be hard for a shower sometimes. I had food poisoning one of the days (received from Bagan. I asked one of the gal's on the staff if she could get me some bread rolls since I couldn't go out and get them myself. She was more than glad to do that and she did. An example of going above and beyond in service. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Inle Lake has a lot of rich traditions but be prepared for some tourist "trap" places like visiting the Silversmith, boat maker etc. It will take some time out of your day and can be interesting but not really why you go to Inle Lake. They they try to sell you things. When you hire a long boat...make sure they take you out into the lake and observe the fisherman. Also...take you through the many "rural" canals. See the local's large gardens etc. Best time to see the fisherman is early morning or late evening but they will be out there some midday too. There seems to be a heavy emphasis in tourist commissions in Myanmar. Sort of sad. They try to keep it hidden but a traveling reality most places you go.
