Sedona Hotel Mandalay, Mandalay

I stayed at the Sedona in Rangon and Mandalay Myranmar. Both hotels were beautiful, clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The staff at the Mandalay was definitely more accommodating and made my stay a pleasure. The food at both hotels was very good, and the variety a pleasant surprise. I would definitely choose to stay in the Sedona Mandalay again when I return. The MAIN drawback was the cigarette smoke. I would definitely recommend they designate smoking areas outside the main lobby, dining room and halls. The smoke even permeated into my bedroom at times and made it difficult for me to breath. They were sympathetic but did not change anything.

Overall I really loved this hotel and will stay there again. The pros really over take the one con on this property. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The breakfast cannot be beat. The breakfast items change everyday and the food is also very good. The evening buffet is reasonable in price and agin very very good. The one con is that for a non-smoker such as myself it is hard to escape the smoke. The lobby at least should be non-smoking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to get away and enjoy Mandalay. Beautiful hotel, good prices, good food, great service. What more could you want.

We stayed here twice and both times staff was very helpful, atmosphere of lobby, restaurant and rooms was very pleasant and price reasonable. Airport shuttle was efficient and timely. I especially liked the views of the city from the room and would definitely choose to stay there again when I return to RANGON. I would have like to have seen tour information in the rooms, or lobby to know what is in the area for visitors with little time.
