Great service from the staff. Hotel near to famous white rice restaurant, Bangkok kitchen restaurant and karawelk hall. Free shuttle bus to town.

i seriously believe this hotel is under-rated. we went for a couple of days relaxation and got just that. as a resident in yangon at present, one must admit that yangon has a long way to go to catch up with other asian cities in terms of cleanliness and living conditions. but the chartrium was like being in another country - an oasis in a chaotic city. i would highly recommend it and it is excellent value for money at the current rates and compared to other hotels in yangon that i also have some experience of

Good Hotel and away from noisy city
A little bit far and silent and good service

It is a little bit far from city center however you can avoid cloud or noisy city feeling. Hotel has good facilities and services. You can enjoy staying here.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can call taxi to go strand road or some other temples it is just 20min from hotel.

if you are not on a budget or if you do not have to stay in downtown, this is probably the best choice for you. be sure to get a lake view room. otherwise, there is little reason to choose this hotel over other more conveniently located, better priced alternatives.
even though i was able to stay at this hotel this time, i do not know if i can stay at this hotel on my next visit, since their rates are skyrocketing. i think their rates have nearly tripped in about a year. who knows how much they will ask next time i visit yangon.

The hotel located near by the river very nice view. The room is very nice ambience and full amenity in the bathroom. For facilities is perfect. The breakfast is very nice.

Do not miss Scott Market. You can enjoy shopping at the market. Famouse for Jade and Silver there are many shop for selection.

Like I said in my previous review, if you are not on a budget or you do not have to stay in downtown for some reason, this is probably the best choice for you. However, be sure to get a lake view room. Otherwise, there is no point in choosing this hotel over others. This hotel will become over-priced if it is not already. Stay here while you can afford. Next time it may cost you twice or three times more.

Nice luxury hotel with big rooms

the chatrium hotel is a very nice luxury hotel with reasonably rates. the rooms are large with the bathroom having separate tub and shower. after a week "up country" in myanmar, it was nice to have so much room to stretch out and relax. we especially enjoyed the swimming pool area, great poolside service and clean and hygienic pool water. the concierge was helpful and friendly in helping us navigate the city of yangon.
the only negative during our stay was the wait for the room. we got in at about 12 noon, and check-in officially starts at 2 pm. normally if the room is available, they would allow us to check-in earlier. other people were waiting for their rooms, but we observed that they checked in after a short wait. we asked if our room was available at 1pm, 1:30 pm, and 1:45pm, and each time they said no. at exactly 2 pm, we asked again, and then they said it was available. we suspect that they purposely made us wait because of a slight disagreement that we had with the front office staff about internet use during our wait. a luxury hotel should not be so petty. after that, everything was fine.
