good rooms, good service, but a bit too expensive

close to Shwedagon pagoda.

Staff are really friendly , cooperative for any help you might require. Good room service compatible to 3 star, though the hotel is only 2 star rated. Clean spacious deluxe rooms. Superior rooms are cozy but a wee bit smaller than Deluxe rooms. you can leave luggage when you go on to other parts of Myanmar. You can make phone calls from the hotel to any part of Myanmar for a nominal charge, and the staff is helpful to do the conversation on your behalf in local language. Taxi service is arranged anytime without any commission. All said and done, the hotel we feel is a bit too expensive.
Restaurant Tip: Near by Ashoka Indian food restaurant is excellent. L'opera, Italian restaurant is not close but very good ambience and menu.

Acceptable stopover hotel

Efficient reception, good business centre, nice room
7.3
Top floor restaurant somewhat like a canteen - despite excellent view of Pagoda. This reinforces the hotel's image as a business top over hotel. Food poor value and went cold quickly in air-conditioning. Suggest people use local restaurant 100 mtrs along street. Well located for Pagoda - walkable.

Not in the centre but near a lake.

Cheap and clean.
5.7
Fantastic vieuws of the most famous pagoda of Myanmar from the terrace at the back of the restaurant at the top floor. Rooms very simple and basic. Good option if you need a cheap stay waiting for a connecting flight.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Don't miss the sunset over the pagoda from the top terrace.

It is hard to find a hotel in Yangon for not a big money. This hotel is not so expensive, but we 100% satisfied with the rooms. The staff was so helpful. The location is not so good, but they easily arrange a taxi for you, and the taxis are very cheap in Yangon, and the staff will tell you how much you will pay for a ride. Nice view on the top of the hotel.
Travel tip: Always go by taxi! And try to ask an air conditioned cab.

Good location and helpful staff

fast wifi, location, english-speaking staff

We moved to Clover Hotel after getting bitten by bed bugs in Hotel Pho Sein. Glad to say there were no bed bugs here! Clover is within 10 - 15 min walking distance to places like Shwedagon Pagoda and Bogyoke Aung San's house. Room was clean and the staff were willing to go out of the way to help you. They also speak decent English. Otherwise, nothing too fancy.
Restaurant Tip: For a taste of one of Myanmar's ethnic cuisines, try the Shan dishes at Mogok Daw Shan. The eating place is located along the same road as Clover Hotel, and is only a min or two away.

Quite nice hotel to stay

Staff
7.3
I found this hotel a nice and clean one, it is pretty close to Chawedagong Pagoda. The small food shop, opposite to the hotel, is quite good. Food is delicious with reasonable price. However, only one bad thing is the sound of air-con compressor waked me up in the mid of the night and the coffee pot did not work. But trades off with friendly service of the hotel staffs. Note: it doesn't locate in downtown area. You need to have a driver/ car or take a taxi to move around.

New Hotel

Clean and New
5.7
The hotel is a two star hotel and nothing much to expect but a clean hotel room with strong shower facilities. With Myanmar opening up the hotel can bevery stiff in everything that they set from transport charges to extra bed and everything is in US$. The thing that annoyed us was the very expensive charges for extra bed US$ 35 per which we feel is too expensive. Will we come back again? The answer is NO!

Fair Location away from City

Basic Two Star Hotel
4.7
The hotel is a two star hotel away from the city but near the pagoda - within walking distance. Our experience there was not as positive as our trips to Vietnam and Indonesia because the staffs were very strict in following the management policies. The exchange rates are better in money changers and we feel the counter staffs are more interested on how to make more monies from the tourists. I will not be going back there for sure!

Some nice staffs but some unfriendly ones too

Clean and New
4.3
the clover hotel is tucked into a small road and can be quite difficult to find if you take a bus. we took a coach and was charged us$ for a party of 11 person. the annoying part about clover hotel is everything is charged per pax even though they can be flexible in their policies. i feel the management have done a good job to indoctrinate a policy of no discounts even though we took more than 5 rooms. i am not pleased with the hotel.
