Good choice for Yangon
cleanliness, location, free wifi, staff
8.3
East hotel is excellently positioned hotel in the vicinity of Sule Pagoda. Price could be lower but considering Myanmar prices it is not that much. Lovely breakfast, free wifi. And one funny thing - toilet does not have door.

Best mid-range hotel in Yangon!
Great location, great service, great price
9.3
It couldn't be any simpler....with all the craziness of inflated hotel prices in Yangon, the East is probably one of the few good deals remaining in the city. This is a no frills boutique hotel, but it's newly renovated, Service is great, rooms are clean, and you're in the middle of it all. If I had one complaint, it's that the wi-fi connection isn't as fast as more epensive hotels. That said, it's gotten better every time I've stayed here, which has been about every three months since March 2012. If there's an availability, I highly recommend that you choose the East hotel!

Good location in the city center of Yangon

The room and facilities are good enough for the price you pay. Staff are service-minded and helpful. You can easily walk to the markets and some tourist attractions nearby. Also, you can get the taxi in front of the hotel and go to places around yangon without making long journey.

Not cheap but worth it all things considered
Location, location, location
8.7
Located just opposite the Traders Hotel. Easy to go anywhere. Taxis always outside the hotel. This is no 5-star hotel, and has no swimming pool or gym facilities, but is very well-maintained. Room is small but adequate for 1 or 2 people. Every floor has a cooler where you can help yourself to bottled water (this doesn't cost the hotel much but nonetheless a nice gesture). Only negative is the breakfast - mediocre quality and not much variety. Overall a pleasant stay.
Shopping Tip:
5 minutes walk to Bogoyoke Aung San market, if you're into jewellery, gems, fabric and antiques.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile
the location, friendly and efficient staff and the considerably new furnishings
8
our stay there was generally pleasant. the staff there were polite and helpful. they even made us packed breakfast to carry away as our driver was coming to pick us up early at 6am. the hotel is conveniently located in the vicinity of the bogyoke market and the sule pagoda.
the hotel does not have extensive amenities but it has sufficient facilities for the business traveller. the only set-back is the water pressure of the shower.
we spent the first night in the deluxe plus room. the room came with unlimited supply of bottled water and that was very convenient as i was travelling with my family
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
near the Bogyoke Market

Ok - as expected
Clean, downtown location.

Airport transfer worked well. Reception friendly. Free wifi a shock as couldn't find an e mail address for hotel.
En suite very weird - see tripadvisor reviews.
Booked a grand Pagoda view - barely able to glimpse the very top. Stay here but not for the view.
Breakfast was ok - loved the free water.
