Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. A lovely relaxing place with great staff

if you don't mind the "real life" noise of boats' outboard motors, and early morning temples (which we had no issues with as were all part of life on the lake) then this place is an excellent choice - a beautiful setting, close to attractions such as the floating gardens, and villages, and teh staff really are amazing. also 2 nice restaurants and very close to other good restaurants - a short boat ride away

nice view but hotel is old

Overall I feel pleasant during my stay at Inya Lake Hotel . The breakfast was very good. The nature lake view is spectacular.
The cons are, the hotel is consider far from the city centre but visitors commute by taxi so the distance is acceptable .
The room reminds me of 1980's , it's dim at night so it's pretty scary the first night I was staying there . The bath tub is built to high luckily I did not fell when I tried to came out from the tub .

A terrible joke, a run down shell of 70s style MYN
It's walking distance to L'opera and the airport is close

Just as has been in the past, I had the last and final stay here. Roaches smashed and smeared on the wall, old outdated, dirty furnishings, remodeling going on in th ehalls, dirty bathroom, a tiny twin room, not what I booked and I was moved, but ewwww....This hotel is a dinosaur and like so many things in mYN, is in dire need of a facelift. Survives purely on location, importance and "hi-so"ness bestowed by locals once impressed by bland splendor, and a lack of good hotels in YNG. After many "iffy" stays, at this price, I'll continue with other hotels.Asked for a bacon cheesebrger, no sauce, no ketchup, no mayo, no mustard. 3 times he came back to confirm "dry bread". The first try, I got cheese and bacon. No beef patty. The 2nd one was slathered in mayo, and he never came back, so I ate it, and I too will never be back.
Restaurant Tip:
Eat L'opera

Older But Full of Character
Beautiful grounds and ample facilities
6.7
Yangon has remain a place where securing a room is almost impossible. So in the end I located a room at the Inya Lake having gone through one on-line booking site that then linked me to Agoda - even though the hotel was not available at their site.
The hotel is far away from anything and must surely have been a resort oriented hotel in the past. Expansive grounds, large lobby (suitable for meetings), and other amentities such as nice bar, large restaurant, deli-type outlet, fitness center, pool, tennis, etc. The breakfast was the best I've had in Yangon.
The hotel is not walking distance to anywhere and if you don't have transport taxis (always available) are a must.
The room (Deluxe) was clean and quite large. The bed was a bit saggy but otherwise everything else was fine - great view of the lake from a big balcony. Staff members were very helpful and good humored. The price was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but given a reasonable rate I would certainly stay there again.
Restaurant Tip:
If you feel like a dining splurge there is L'Opera Restaurant about a hundred meters from the hotel entrance. This has to be one of the better restaurants in the city. Excellent food, very good service, and great wine selection - but all at a price!

Unknown to most guests the bodies of nearly 7000 brave students mown down by the Junta on 8/8/88 were collected up by trucks and dumped into Inya Lake.
I hope one day there will be a monument to theior bravery in the little pergola by the Lakeside

a dated hotel in great location .
4.7
The Inya lake hotel is situated in a fantastic location on Inya lake .In his 1958 state visit to Myanmar, Secretary General Nikita Khruschev presented the Government of Myanmar with three gifts; one of which was the Inya Lake hotel. The hotel has all the charm of that soviet era . The air conditioners have been replced and there are flat screen TV's but little else has changed .
About one third of the hotel is used as offices by the UN world abnk and ADB .
Due to the shorgage of hotel rooms in Yangon the hotel is able to charge premium rates but would have either been totally refurbished or demolished in most other Asian cities
