The swimming pool is by far the most perfect feature of this hotel. Its beautiful, with stunning view, right temperature. The hotel is also stunning and the right ambiance for a sortie to Myanmar. It is so worth the visit and if you have political concerns think about the local people you will be giving a job to by going! Don't punish the poor! It also has wireless connection in the lobby and fast speed internet in business centre. Breakfast was great!
Its just disappointing more people are not going there to enjoy such a place!
While the world boycotts Myanmar, its the people who suffer not the generals. A visit to Kandaggyi Hotel makes you realize how many jobs are provided through viable and reasonable businesses. This is an oasis in Yangon with a stunning view of the Schwedagon and the Lake. A beautiful swimming pool, good food and exceptional service!! The teak wood, combined with beautiful gardens makes it a special stay!
Travel tip : Try the restaurant/bar at the back of the hotel, overlooking the Karaweik Boat restaurant. Its reasonably priced and great views!

Level of service (not cloying), room quality, well-maintained gardens. Most staff spoke some english but please try and speak some Burmese!
Evening musicians seemed dour almost robotic. Pool could do with a bit of a clean up. Possibly not central enough for some but taxis easy to obtain. However, good location for Shwe Dagon.
We arrived extremely early in the morning in the hope that we would be able to check-in before the normal time. We were provided with cold drinks and waited a short time before being shown to our room. The level of service and comfort was excellent bearing in mind the harsh reality of everyday life in Yangon. We didn't eat in the hotel except for a club sandwich for lunch (this was tasty and great value for money).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit Shwe Dagon during the day and use a guide. Cheap enough. Entrance ticket can now be purchased using kyats. Keep ticket and sticker and return during the evening - no extra charge. The ambience during this period is magical.

Breakfast, property in general
Swimming pool was always dirty, especially in the mornings.
Front office more interesed in serving the white people (Europeans) than other kinds. I am speaking from personal experience.
In general, the overall service needs improvement to the general public. We are human beings.
In general, the overall service needs improvement to the general public. We are all human beings.
It would make a big difference if all your employees treated everybody the same.
Shopping Tip : Scott market is great for shopping especially in jewellery.

The spa like effect of the rooms, view of the lake, the coffee. The candid info about telephone connections being bad in Myanmar
This is a charming hotel with a relaxing view of the lake. ( I forget the name.) Location is quite conveniet to the center of town . Try the local coffee. its the best I have had so for. staff are very friendly. makes you wonder how they can still smile in such a repressed country. theirs is a sincere desire to please and make a guest feel comfortable. I felt this the most in this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Try the local coffee. Its apparently steamed for several hours, and has a very nice aroma.

Very good service. Great location away from the hustle and bustle -and pollution- of Yangon downtown. Impressive and large wooden complex in a garden by a beautiful lake. Within walking distance of the Swedagon temple.
It's a large complex with way too many rooms. Also the pool could be a bit nicer.
I highly recommend the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel mainly for its great location, slightly away from downtown Yangon. It also has a very friendly and helpful staff. The complex is an adaptation of the old British Boating Club and retains some of those original characteristics. Although it is a bit of a mega complex, the lobby and dining spaces are small enough not to feel like you are in a large hotel. The atmosphere is therefore cozy despite the size. There are a few tables outside where one can have breakfast next to a beautiful lush garden. Rooms either face a beautiful lake or the gleaming Swedagon.
Restaurant Tip : Next door is Sandy's which serves excellent Myanmar cuisine. And a 5 minute walk away towards the Swedagon temple is "Signature" with its excellent local and international food.

Hospitality and Location. For foreign people, sometimes feel lonely or annoy if they are traveling alone.
Although, during I stayed at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel, I really feel relaxing and like at home.
Sometimes feel the oldness of equipments, but not so much serious.
To feel and taste, the Bar along with the Lakeside. That's really fascinating scenery especially at nights. In addition, if you compare other Hotels located on the city, you must feel the difference especially on cost-performance.

Great place very quiet near to the lake.
Very kind people.
Nice architecture.
My room had not the air con working and it was very hot ( last level and pagoda view) despite we are in January.
I will recommend this hotel for the lake and the very typical architecture , sometime rooms are a little too old, but you should choice the rooms with lake view quieter.
The swimming pool is nice but very busy.

Walking distance of the main feature in Yangon. Good local show in the grounds of the hotel (Buffet and show extra).
Found the hotel rooms clean but not much lighting very dark at night.
This hotel is in a beautiful setting ideal for the number 1 paya. Worth a 2 night stay at the most otherwise I think you might get bored unless you like lazying around the pool.
Travel tip : If walking at night bring a torch lots of potholes no street lighting in most places or very very dimly lit. This hotel has its own generator so had electricity but lots of other hotel don't.

Nice garden, nice building and craftsmanship, good customer service.
Bugs in the bath tub and very dark room. Expensive, and hotel can not even provide with free drinking water. They've charged $2.00 per small bottle which worth 200 kyat local money (which is 15cents U.S).
I had a bad experience with bugs in the tub and in the room. The room has a bad smell and was dark. The shower curtains and window drapes are really old and look dirty. Most of all they have charged me $14 for 6 small bottle of drinking. Couldn't believe that they couldn't even provide the drinking water. I've booked the lake front room and was very disappointed. The room was very dark and has a bad smell. Also had a bunch of bugs in the bathtub in the morning. I changed to a different room right away. Actually didn't get what I paid for. I've paid for a lake front view room but ended up changing into standard room because of the very bad room condition. I would not go back there again.

Pleasant staff, good breakfast, quiet
and a beautiful setting on the lake
Still some parts being renovated following damage
from hurricane Nargis. The rooms are comfortable as are the beds, but feel a little dated
Overall the hotel is good value for money given
its tranquil setting, gardens, swimming pool
and restaurants. The staff were very helpful
and it was good to come back to somewhere at
the end of the day that does not have the
traffic noise of Rangoon's streets. I would stay here again.
Restaurant Tip : Sandy's next door has a lovely lakeside setting
(though looks a bit run down) and very very good
Burmese food. Definitely worth a try!

Lovely hotel in good location.
Not good to book directly with hotel.
The first time I stayed I had booked through Agoda. I wanted an extra night and booked directly with hotel - not such a good rate, however they were prepared to give me a better room but I was satisfied to stay in the one I was in.
Travel tip : I have already booked for October.

Lovely teakwood hotel in traditional Myanmar style. Very lovley staff in restaurant - especially Ohnmar.
Pool not operating after the cyclone.
I will return to this lovely hotel - great value for money. Lovely buffet breakfast. They know how to make a good espresso. Hotel was very quiet as cyclone had hit two weeks prior and they had done a great job as having things working as well as possible.
Travel tip : I will go back - I think the massage at Summit Parkview is better and breakfast at Summit parkview is just as good and cheaper hotel - however I do like the rooms so much better and and the staff very nice.

Quiet Location.
Attentive service.
Multiple Dining Options.
Close to Shewadagon Pagoda
Set on lake which is perfect for a romantic stroll
15 minutes walk from the main area.
Swimming pool is aesthetically attractive but not particularly good for lounging around as the fauna and lake attract insects and mosquitoes.
This charming Thai run hotel - is ideal if you wish to be a bit out of the main area. A 15 minute walk from the main shopping district the hotel is beautifully designed to fit seamlessly into the surrounding area. Situated a short walk from a lake which provides a pleasant destination for a romantic stroll, and also from Shewadagon Pagoda - the hotel has multiple dining options and is a good choice for couples looking for a romantic getaway outside of the main centre.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you take in the view of the Shewadagon Pagoda at night which is spectacularly lit.
