Quiet, business-type hotel away from mayhem.

i had a great time in yangon and returning to the panda hotel at the end of each busy day there was always a pleasing experience. the friendly door staff and concierge and helpful reception staff always offered assistance and advice. the hotel is well air-conditioned and provides reliable, if a little slow, wi-fi internet in the lobby. the buffet breakfast was decent and my large room (on the 11th floor) was always cleaned very well each day.
the hotel is certainly beginning to show its age and whilst it may not be a good place to meet other travellers it does provide a safe, secure and comfortable place to return to. the location isn't near downtown so you need to get a taxi but i appreciated the calm. check out the local cafes near the hotel, the locals are super friendly.

This hotel is located in peaceful and quiet surrounding.The hotel services and facilities are good.But the TV and wifi services are poor.Can see Shwe Dagon Pagoda and city from this room.Check in and check out processes are also very swift.Around the hotel,there is always taxi services.Bell boys are also very helpful.
Shopping Tip:
The hotel location is quite near to the Taw Win Shopping center.Also near to the china town.

The staff in the hotel are very heipful and friendly. Good location, within walking distance to shopping center.
Travel tip:
In Myanmar they don't accept Australian dollars, make sure the US dollars you have are clean and no line, no marks, otherwise no one will change it with you.

this was our last night in yangon. we arrived back from golden rock and were very concerned since the mishap of previous stay on the 25th. however, the junior suite is very large and room was clean and bed nice. as in my first review on our first 2 night stay, the hotel needs to be updated and modernized. the breakfast is plentiful (buffet) with mostly chinese food. they have eggs made to order with toast, fruits, coffee (nescafe), tea. the staff is helpful and polite. overall even with the mishap it is a good bargin. the property is located just outside of downtown away from all the noise and dust which was good. we walked to sule pagoda from the hotel which took about 30 minutes but was good to give a good feeling of the local life in downtown.

We'd booked into the Panda online and were easily able to take a taxi from the airport to get there. Good location and view of the Shwedagon - about 8 mins drive from the complex and ten mins downtown to the waterfront. Good location. Leafy suburb and quiet. The rooms are big and reasonably well--furnished. Good air-con and bathrooms. The reception was quite helpful but told us that internet (wifi) was available on our corridor. That wasn't true for anyone we heard speak on the subject however, you could pick it up (it's slow bandwidth in Burma!) around the reception area downstairs. Taxis are available outside- you have to bargain. Good staff and decent value for money. There are other, more-modern places available but it was pretty good and I'd be happy to stay there again- if I didn't expect internet access in my room.

Good view of the Pagoda

The room was spacious and the staff were helpful. The hotel however does not provide packed breakfast for tourist who are taking an early flight to other Myanmar destinations. We even made an advance request for it. Other tourist from other hotels were seen carrying breakfast packs in the airport. Hoping they can consider an option to provide a breakfast pack.
