Staffs performence

Poor lighting in the bathroom

The overall experience at the Summitparkview was good. The location was very close to the Shwedagone pagoda. Taxis were avalible throughout the day. Breakfast was good enough to start the day with. The front desk staffs were doing great in dealing with numerous tasks. Agoda should have access to choose the deluxe room through the web booking. We had to upgrade the room once we got to the hotel and wasted nearly 3 hours. The receptionists were very helpful in that matter.

I am happy with the friendly and unpretendious service provided by the receptionists on duty. Also I am happy with the room as it is very rare that a hotel room also come with ceiling fan which circulate the air to gie it a nice breezy feeling. Lastly, due to my very early morning flight to Bangkok, I am impressived that they prepared a breakfast box for me to bring along which is a nice gesture.

The only weakness I experienced is that they do not except any credit card at all.

The best feature of my stay is I am located a room where I can see the pagoda from my room window and the pagoda certainly look stunning at night. Better still the famous pagoda is only about 15 minutes walk from my hotel and being there during the night also give it a totally different mood, I am able to enjoy the night view without too many tourists around and am happy to see only the locals. My overall stay with Summit Parkview has been pleasant and comfortable.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Do take a nice slow walk to the pagoda at night and you will feel a totally different mood which is both serenity and peaceful.

staff, breakfast, location

a bit worn

happy with my stay. staff extremely welcomming and helpful. note that EVERYTHING you buy in the hotel is about 5 times cost on the street, including taxi prices if you are a decent bargainer. the breakfast is incredible and i really enjoyed the gym (wednesdaay they have a yoga class and aerobics everyday). the location near the pagoda is convenient but a bit far from downtown. not too many restaurants nearby

Value for money Nice and quite environment Friendly staff

No shuttle service to town

It is good hotel with sincere hospitality. The staff are friendly and helpful. Most of them are able to understand and speak english. I like the quite environment and nice decoration at the lobby. The music at the lobby is pleasant to the ears. The Myanmar coffee smell good and aromantic with excellent taste. I recommend anyone to stay at this Hotel.

Clean, great staff, decent location

outside downtown, rooms a bit worn, a bit over priced

i was pleased overall. the showers are great, room was clean enough. looks very much like your typical Motel 6 in the USA with a couple extra perks. the view of the pagoda is stunning and if you have that from your room it is worth every penny. the gym is also a really nice perk though the cardio equipment is a bit limited. wifi is available which is hard to find in most of the city but it is very slow and expensive at $2/hr

it works.... Guest Rating: 6

reasonably priced, well organized, good location, nice breakfast buffet

the rooms are a little outdated and the regular taxi drivers situated out front are a bit pushy in their overpriced quotes.....just keep walking and you'll get a fair price.

The Summit Parkview Hotel is a nice and easy choice if you are staying in Yangoon for a quick visit. The staff is wonderful and make everything easy and accessible. They have wireless in the lobby and compared to the other hotels their prices for just about everything from food to flip flops are much more reasonable. They even have a fair money exchange center very close by and the pool offers a wonderful escape from the heat.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the brilliant Shwedagon is incredibly close by

Clean, well maintained, stonge hot shower, nice staff. very close to shwedagon pagoda. bood breakfast buffet.

pool water is kind of yellow.

the first impression we got when we reach the hotel is that summit parkview hotel is clean and well maintained for a 14 years old hotel. the staff work there are very polite and speak perfect English. everyone eager to help the customer no matter you tip or not. the included breakfast buffet was excellent for the price and provides huge selction of food. and the best past of the hotel is its location. very close to shewdagon pagoda. and resturants in walking distance.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : go to the shwedagon after 6pm. the weather is cool, the nightview of the pagoda is very beautiful. and you might even skip a $5 fee, if the ticket people finish their day shift. by the way, the pagoda closed at 9pm.

Comfortable, clean, safe, friendly and warm welcoming drink, acommodating, good english speaking personnel, almost new building in centre of town with (from our room) a view of the famous shwedagon pagoda.

Disapointed ...the pool was out of order.. Major maintenance taking place.

My second time in yangoon...this hotel is out of noisy downtown area...quiet and if necessary close to the action by a short taxi ride ...very good staff all over the different services and the buffet breakfast is excellent...no need to pay more to feel safe and be comfortable in yangoon ...i took a short walk around the hotel neighborhood and found a small shop well stocked with goodies for the room and also observe the people go about their daily activities...

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Highly recommended...clean, safe and very comfortable, friendly staff and good food.

The staff was so very friendly and helpful. The food was good with lots of choices. Location was close to many interesting sights.

The hotel does not take any credit cards, only cash.

This is a very good hotel with one of the best staff I have ever incountered. They went the extra mile to help and make you feel very welcome. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The food is good, prepared by a Chef from France. It is in a good location close to several interesting sights and shopping. I will stay there again.

Travel tip : Use non-hotel taxi service, it's less expensive.

- excellent value business-style hotel - very clean rooms - nice, comfortable beds - breakfast buffet with many options - good location

- despite there being plenty of hotel staff, many of them seemed very uncertain and overwhelmed...

This hotel is excellent value with all the amenities of a business hotel (including a pool and gym) in a good location. Whilst the staff were all very nice, they seemed the least competent of all the hotel staff we encountered during our time in Myanmar. Minor things of course, but it did seem strange. If someone had told me that the hotel had just opened (and therefore many on the staff were still learning their jobs), then it would have made sense to me! However, they were all friendly and polite, so no real complaint, just a bit odd!

Swimming Pool

Food was expensive - service at front desk. There is no Hotmail or Yahoo in Myanmar - suggest you get a gmail

Hotel was overall good although it is a little far to walk into town. Pool was good and the restaurant had good food but very expensive. Front office staff reluctant to change money or do little things to make the trip easier.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is no hotmail in Burma. Also meet up at the Yangon sailing club - 2.30pm on a saturday for the Yangon Hash House Harriers - good chance to meet the expats who live there

The staff was very nice, nice hotel, very close to Shwedagon Pagoda, clean, nice pool

none really

I came in very early in the morning, but I got my room not long after I arrived, the staff was very helpful and nice. Has a great breakfast buffet. The hotel lies very close to the Shwedagon Pagoda, had a nice view of it from my room. The hotel has a nice pool and a good gym. You can change money at the hotel and they give you a good rate, very convenient.
