Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Avoid this hotel!
The only thing I liked was the location
3.3
I was extremely disappointed! The website doesn't give any true picture to this place.
There was absolutely nothing superior of the room!
The problem is that Yangon does not have sufficient hotels for all the people going there so they overcharge for a room. For the same money in Bangkok I would almost stay at a luxury hotel.
Never again!

Lovely hotel but a little old
Good food at the restaurant
7.7
The hotel is a little old but the restaurant, 365 has really good food. It is also downtown which makes it easily accessible.

The hotel was just adequate. They need to but new mattresses, new bedding and new towels and refurbish the rooms, particularly the plumbing.
The helpfulness of the staff almost made up for it!

See my comments for our longer stay the previous week - the performance was consistent and we again found the staff helpful.

Good location but much too expensive
Location, location, location
6.3
The location is perfect, a walking distance to Yangon downtown, the main railway station, Bogoyoke Market and Sule Pagoda as well as an easy taxi ride to Shwedagon Pagoda, the National Museum and the lakes.
Big clean rooms with wooden floor, but outdated furniture/bathroom and very bad lighting. The bed
was confortable.
Friendly and helpful staff as usual in Myanmar.
The 24/7 bar/restaurant is very modern and trendy but the food is average. They do have delicious juices/smoothies though.
The breakfast was definitely not the best I had in Myanmar.
All in all much too expensive for a medium range south-east Asian hotel.(USD 80 for a single room with breakfast - Feb.2013). Not good value for money

Centrally located and practical though a bit tired
Great location and reasonable price considering lodging costs in Myanmar.
6.7
I found the Thammada more than adequate for my purposes and have re-booked another three nights to close out my three weeks in Myanmar. A bit tired and creaky but clean and close to sights and activities. Good Cafe 365 very convenient on ground floor. Poor in-room wi-fi but works well in lobby. Could use new mattresses but otherwise fairly spacious room and bath. Inexpensive taxis available 24/7. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Level of staff's spoken English adequate for the average traveler. "House-keeping" staff very appreciative of small tips. I was unable to operate the in-room safe but always secure my valuables with my own locks. I had no problems with security. Many international mid-budget clients like myself none of whom seemed to be complaining about anything.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
I went twice in the late afternoon for the sunset at the Shwedagon Pagoda. Expect to walk clockwise and barefoot around the grounds. Plan to spend 2 to 3 hours watching the faithful "making merit" at the various shrines. Fascinating and colorful experience.

There are far better options available in Yangon
Good location, near train station and markets

Room was large and simple. Beds were very uncomfortable - an army cot would be far more comfortable. Bathroom was large but full of mould. There are far better accommodation options in town if you're able to secure a room ahead of time.
