Good location, nice staff, that's it

When I first stayed at Thamada Hotel in 1983 it was already ancient. By now the rooms have become pretty decrepit and aged and simply dismal. Perhaps the best thing to do is to demolish the place and put up something new for at least the location is tops. Across the street from the main train station, and a five minute walk to downtown. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and does its best to accommodate the customer. The room service is pretty bad; no one really cleans anything thoroughly. All they do is make the bed and leave clean towels and glasses - sometimes. On a scale of 1 - 10 we couldn't give it more than a 5, and again because of location and staff. The hotel itself is 1.

The hotel was very near the railway station and an easy walk to several sights such as the Sule Pagoda and Bogyoke Market. Like all hotels in Yangon at the moment, it is overpriced for what you get. The breakfast was poor. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

very old , unmaintained hotel,lots of mosquitoes,they didnt even bother to cvhange bed sheet every day, i stayed there 4 nite but they didnt change the bed cover,

Good hotel with great location

The hotel is great with a good service from staff dan facilities provided. Unfortunately no WIFI.
In term of cleaness is good. However, the bed sheets is dirty with blood stains.
I room was facing main road and can see Yagoon city and enjoy seeing Burmaes people.
Restaurant Tip:
At the back of hotel has muslim cafe & bakery. It calls Pearl cafe

Run-down, overpriced hotel

The room was clean enough, but rather old and run-down. If you book early enough there are certainly much better hotels for the money.

This place should be a flop house for drug addicts and should only be 10 usd per night. But, given Yangons insane lack of hotel rooms, travelers all get charged 3 or 4 times what the rooms are worth.
For business travel, or any travel beyond the backpacker level, this place is not worth it. No hot water, aircon not working well, broken tv remote, bad reception on the tv, terrible internet.
Oh, the 24 cafe seems nice for an after work drink, but avoid the food, its rather awful.

Handy for down town Yangon

Nice hotel within walking distance of Auang San market etc. We had room on 6th floor with good views over the town. Large room with aging wooden floors and furniture. Comfortable, but could do with a bit of love and attention to make it truely classy. 365 cafe on ground floor is convenient, especially for early departures or late arrivals. Worked well as out first and last hotel in Myanmar, although a long way from the airport.

this hotel is fair value for money - given the high hotel costs in yangon (and myanmar in general) at the moment. hotel costs in yangon are approx. 50% more than what you might get in bangkok, for the same quality. breakfast is not that good.

Good mid town location,spacious rooms
easy walk to markets,downtown & railway station, helpful staff, decent breakfast, efficient aircon & free wifi

This hotel is in a relatively modern 6 story building with a small but reliable lift. Staff were polite & helpful& taxis are available all day at the door.Rooms are large for the money, clean but showing their age particularly in the bathroom . A good choice of substantial breakfasts were included & available in the adjoining bar/restaurant. We arrived early after a tiring overnight journey but were allowed to check in immediately as the room was ready. Would stay there again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Arranga a taxi to view the lake & surrounding suburbs as these are far more pleasant & gracious than areas close to the centre of the city.
