Okay hotel for a stay-over
Central location between downtown and Shwedagon Pagoda
9.3
Central location between downtown and Shwedagon Pagoda, nice breakfast in 24h NY style bar next door, rooms & facilities rel. old & rundown but clean. Towels were clean but very old and spotty. If you plan to stay for 1 night or 2 for sightseeing or stopover to fly on this hotel is totally fine but don't expect more.
Shopping Tip:
Check out the bustling markets an chinatown and little india.

Easy to access many place, Clean, nice hotel staff
Good Hotel staff, Room, Food
8.7
it's easy to access to downtown. i can enter to market by shortcut beneath of hotel (yaw min gyi st.). on the side way, you will see the morning fresh market.
there are restaurants on nawaday road. nice breakfast , tea and roti on the corner with very clean and cheap. on this st., there is the internet cafe and oversea call by skype ( spider web mobile shop)
i rest here for 2 nights with triple beds. it well for me and family. it's old but clean and i like vintage furniture here. it's made by teak with scandinavia style. it might be made for a long time
however, there is no free wifi
cheers

Like many other hotels in Myanmar and Yangon in particular, Thamada is much more expensive this year than last, but still one of the cheaper options. My room was small but comfortable, with a lot of wood including a parquet floor, a little worn perhaps but quite adequate. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location just over the bridge from the central street in town is really convenient.

Rooms with Internet
Good location in Central part of city, and has Wi-Fi
5.7
Small but clean rooms with basic amenities. Price is good for travelers on a budget as compared to the other avaliable hotels in MYR which is over priced for their quality. Convinient part of town with its location, and quality of room compatible to motels along the Interstate hwys in USA.

A Good Choice in Yangon
Clean, Good Service, Good Location
8.3
Nice hotel and decent location...staff were very good and friendly. WIFI is available for $5usd per day and it works well. I was on a Business trip so this was essential.
There is a great Cafe (365) attached to the Hotel where they serve a decent breakfast and a wide range of foods.
The hotel is seriously overpriced if compared to other Asian Countries but there is a severe lack of rooms in Yangon at various times of year.

Good Location
good service, good location
6.3
The location is quite good. 5 mins walk will take you to the famous tourist shopping place of Bogyoke market. Next door is the famous cinema of Yangon. The Aung San stadium is a stone throw away. 2 or 3 bus stops will take you to the Shwedagon pagoda (suggest you take a taxi). Chinatown and local street- foods area is also 2 stops away.
The hotel rates are expensive. Basic neccessity items are there in the room: air-con, hair-dryer, tv, bathroom with bathtub... but the room has a slightly bad odour. The room is rather old but clean. Bed is not very comfortable as it is too soft. Remember not to eat or put food stuff open in the room, as it will attract small ants.
I could have gotten a 4 star hotel for about twice the amount paid for this hotel. I probably would if i am staying a little longer in Yangon.
Nightlife Tip:
There is very little night life in Yangon. After 8pm, the roads are dimly lit and very few people on the streets. Most of the shops and restaurants close by 9pm. Clubs and pubs are very few. My advise is, explore what you can in the day and have a early rest in the hotel room at night. Cos sun rises around 6am.

Convenient location
Friendly, helpful staff. Good restaurant.
6.7
This was my fourth stay at Thamada. I've stayed in 2 other similar hotels in Yangon, but prefer the Thamada for its convenient location, friendly, helpful staff and clean, well- presented rooms.
Although the hotel is a little tired, the pluses far outweight the minuses.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Shwedagon Pagoda is a must see. Zephyr Cafe in a garden setting on the banks of the Inya Lake is a great place to have a relaxing lunch, but not well known by taxi drivers.
