Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Good location & Free wifi
Good Location, Big and Bright Room
7.3
Traveled with husband who was attending a conference at Park Royal Hotel which was right next to Thamada Hotel. Thamada is a old hotel with a nostalgic charm of its own. It's located within walking distance to Yangon Central Railway Station, Scott's Market, Sakura Tower, Ruby Mart and Sule Pagoda. Love our room which was big and had a nice sunrise view. Breakfast was provided at the 365 cafe besides the hotel lobby. The Fish Porridge, Wanton Noodle and Salmon Rice were good but western breakfast set was normal. Was out alone most of the time but back to 365 cafe for lunch, Basil Chicken Rice and Jap Curry Rice were good. It's open 24hours so you can pop in anytime for a drink. Hotel prices in Yangon are crazily high thus Thamada is a value for money deal.

Comfortable and enjoyable - good location
Location, comfort, and pleasant

Have been on Yangon approx 7 times and apart from one time when no rooms were available I always stay here. Nothing flash but is comfortable and in a great location. Like all hotels in Yangon now it is getting a bit pricey for what it is but still better value for money than many others - there are of course cheaper guest houses and the like but always happy here

Overall this hotel is just OK. The room is dark but spacious. We only stayed for one night (stop over hotel) and off to Bagan the next day. Nothing much to complain if you are staying for a short period.

Convenient; Good city view
Good city view, clean and Wifi available

Hotels in Yangon are expensive, but at least, this hotel offers acceptable service.
Connectivity with the INternet is a real issue in Burma. This hotel does offer Wifi though the speed is far from impressive. You have to expect slower speed.
Rooms have great view of the city. My room had a commanding view of the railway station and a Church.

A correct hotel option in Yangon
Cleanliness, good breakfast
7
I stayed here for 3 nights in March 2013.
Room : big bed, correct matrass though not so recent, tv did not work, slight smoke smell when I entered, air con working properly but just a slightly bit too noisy, fridge ok. My window gave on the side street, hence the room was really quiet.
Bathroom : big, with bath and shower, very clean, received bath gel and shampoo
Wifi : paying, so did not try it
Breakfast : choice between 3 options, quite good, served in 365 cafe downstairs
Location: ok but too far to walk comfortably to downtown. Close to the market though.
Overall the hotel is ok, but just a bit shabby and old fashioned.
Price for a single normal room 80 usd ( 85usd if you are 2), which I found too pricey, but I was glad to find a very clean hotel after a month in Myanmar.

Too expensive
Free wi-fi access and strategic location

Among several choice of hotels in Yangon, Thamada is one of those which has affordable price. The average rate of hotels is very high, so you won't get whats in your expectation. There are very few facility, even you wont find any water boiler nor daily coffee and tea in superior room. But, it is ok with staff performance and the location of this hotel, near Yangon City Center. If there's an option, I would recommend the Clover City Center Hotel which is in 2 km radius from this hotel.
