lovely little oasis in Kathmandu

this place takes you out of the craziness of kathmandu. right in the middle of everything, this secluded places is the place to scape from all the motorbikes, ambulant sellers, crazy loud music and dusty roads. the place in comparison to others was much more expensive, but it is still very reasonable for what it offers.

While the hotel is not lux , it does have a special charm.
Staff was so so helpful and willing to do what ever was needed.
No doubt it's in the middle of a crazy area however
I wld stay here again.

La dolce vita is best restaurant around.

Loved the fact that it was in the center, but pushed back a bit, allowing an escape from the chaos of Thamal. lovely boutique hotel, good breakfast and helpful staff. Would definitely return!!!

I stayed at the AGH following a trekking trip. It is in an excellent location right in the heart of Thamel. The great thing is you can step out of the hustle and bustle into a beautiful garden and feel like a world away. The hotel is very well laid out and the rooms and surrounds exceptionally clean. The highlight is the welcoming and friendly staff right from the minute of arrival with a cold drink to the owner taking a personal interest in his guests and having a chat each morning at breakfast. The guy serving breakfast (great breakfast) is very friendly and supportive. I highly recommend at stay at the AGH and look forward to my next visit. Thank you to everyone at the AGH for making my stay an enjoyable experience.

I only stayed one night at the Ambassador as I was transitting through Kathmandu but I was very impressed with all that I saw: from the airport pickup arranged by the hotel, to the warm welcome at reception and the clean, comfy room. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. I can't comment much on the location as I didn't see much of the neighbourhood but it was central, which brings with it a certain amount of noise outside at night, to be expected. However I would highly recommend this hotel, and have tried to re-book myself on my return visit to the city, but they were already fully booked. Quite justifiably!
Travel tip:
Not the quietest location at night, but it's central, so it depends on what you're after!

Booked online with the request to have airport transfer which did not get passed onto the hotel staff. We had to get a taxi to hotel. You should look into how special requests can be passed on efficiently to team hotel staff.
Restaurant Tip:
Try Nepal Setnon dinner menu, it was very nice.
