Without exception the hotel staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. Backyard is right in the middle of noisy, crazy Thamel but the music stops at 11pm. The room and bathroom were clean and plenty of hot water for showers. Free tea available all day to recover from the streets of Kathmandu. I'll go back!
Travel tip:
Try to avoid the 5th floor (no lift) if you're not fit.

Rather good hotel in central Thamel

not very easy to find but then well located in thamel.simple but globally clean, our room had obviously been repainted recently. decent breakfast on the pleasant rooftop.
we appreciated that they waited for us at the airport even though our plane was 1.30 late.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Ask for airport pickup or mail them for accurate directions to get there.
