My wife and I were trekking in the Annapurna region and picked this hotel as we thought it'd be a great place for R & R. However when we arrived we felt as if we were cheating - the hotel feels like any hotel in any part of the world (we could've just as easily have been in London/Paris/etc.). We were happy to escape the next morning back into central Kathmandu to re-experience Nepalese life and culture

More of a golf course than forest.

Well, the only reason I booked this hotel was to have a nice walk. They don't tell you that they will charge you US$10 per person per hour! We didn't go because from the description and from the map, it looked like a walk around the golf course. There was three of us and we would've gone for a more reasonable rate. Our room was nice and large and we were quite comfortable even with the extra bed, though the bathroom really should have a shower curtain. The water went everywhere. The worst part of the stay was the food and you would have to take a taxi out to find other options.

This was the relaxing trip I was dying for! There was nothing that could have been better! The stay was 100% comfortable and restful. The staff was amazing, and the price is very reasonable.

Everything about Gokarna makes this a lovely place. It is quiet, beautiful, with spacious rooms, welcoming staff and has a spa and good food.
It's location on a hill outside Kathmandu protects you from the noise and air pollution of the city.

Hotel had nice secluded location about 45 mins from Kathmandu. The service was friendly apart from breakfast where everything had been closed up before the end of breakfast time limit. This is mainly a hotel for group meetings rather than individual travel.

Staff was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable. The meals in the dining room were excellent. Even better was one night, having a meal from the same menu by the fire in the bar (lounge). Be sure to take the guided walk in the forest.

Beautiful golf course with deers!

We booked one night and then decided to add another night to escape dusty Kathmandu. And thank god we did! The rooms were wonderful and the staff were amazing. We enjoyed the food at both restaurants but the view at the restaurant overlooking the golf course is just amazing. The monkeys were all over our roof and as cute as they are, the noise made it hard for us to sleep. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who likes a quite getaway.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
This hotel is far away from the city, so unless you're planning to spend all your time in the hotel, expect to pay slightly hefty prices for tours away from the hotel.

We loved the food and the wonderful staff. The views from the restaurant overlooking the golf course were fantastic. We would definitely recommend the jungle walk around the course. The monkeys were cute but can disturb your sleep when they are messing around your roof!

The hotel is located away from town so expect to pay slightly more to get in and out.
