Reality check please!

Lovely landscape, beautiful views (if season is right)

To evaluate the Hattiban Resort in a very comprehencive form: + lovely landscape with a great view down to Kathmandu valey and the high mountains (7k meters plus) behind + very friendly staff + very good kitchen (you must try, even short menue) - - not 'deluxe' at all!!! 1-- transfer service with own 4x4 possible; but sorry, since two weeks car is broken... The road up to the Hotel is REAL off road!!!!!! You are trapped there... 2-- No heating system working (first night +4 degrees outside, more or less the same inside; following nights quite similar, but rubber tubes filled with warm water were offered); no warm water on demand. Both depends on availability of electricity, obviously the Hattiban Resort is not in charge of (sufficient) own generator capacity even just a few guests. - - room and bath room were clean, but far away from 'de luxe'; more 'Youth Hostel' 3-- Sitting in the restaurant with boots and winter-jacket as standard, call it romantic or not. 4-- Get pissed off when Credit Card payment was first not possible ('line broken') and demand for USD. I told them that they must have a manual (old fashion) paper based payment option. It took 50 minutes to clear our restaurant bills from the last days...

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The area of Pharping is quite nice for some hiking experience, targeting the various monestries. Would recommend a day trip, walking up to the Hattiban Resort for a lunch/dinner and drive back to another hotel.
