Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Not satisfy:
1. No proper checking of the room - we are unable to turn on TV as no plug
2. Cleanliness of toilet - there are cockroaches in the toilet
3. The hotel did not provide slippers in the room

Poor communication and fumbles my requests again
located in Thamel area and lots of shops around.

I requested airport pickup, and it never came. After waiting a long time, I used prepaid taxi to the hotel only to find that the hotel manager was ready to pick me up. Anyway, I was extremely pissed, but picked up the tab to smooth things over for me at their loss, I am pleased with their gesture. Although the manager promised to drop me off at the airport later instead, but guess what? The driver still ASKED me for money and would not let me go away until he confirmed with Hotel Buddha! Do you see the communication problem here again while the guest ends up paying for the problem/mistakes
The standard room I had was a "smoker's" room, and I could smell the remnants in the blankets etc. The phone was physically a broken phone, and manager never bothered to replace it even after I told to his face. There was NO soap, No TV in the standard room. I had to sleep in my jackets just to make sure that I don't get infected by the blankets and sheets which smelled smoke-filled. If you just want a cheap place to stay in Thamel, maybe this place is ok for you. The pictures can never show you the real conditions the furnatures are in. The hot water was never hot but warm at best. I didn't bother to take showers because it was never hot enough for me.
There is a big tips-box filled with cash right in front of the entrance! Well, tipping is only for extra, out-of-ordinary services provided. I saw none provided during my stay, but I supposed when the hotel claims that airport pickup is available , they mean it is only available if you pay for the higher room rate. I bought the last-minute promotional rate room, and I was left stranded at the airport!! So call the hotel directly to confirm if they are willing to pick you up BEFORE you book it
Travel tip:
lots of money exchange around, but don't use those just outside of the hotel Buddha, but in an alley nearby there is one with very good exchange rate than those on the main streets.
Don't book with the travel agency just outside the hotel for bus tickets to Pokhara. They sell you 'Pratyaya' bus line which I could never find the next day. You should check a few agencies for prices. I paid 600 rupees to Pokhara only, but hotel asked 700 with another bus operator maybe.
When you return from Pokhara to Thamel, you maybe dropped off at Sarakhutte which is only 3 min walk from the hotel, so that's convenient. Hotel was nice to offer to send someone to walk me back to the hotel, and that was good of them. Bring a GPS with pre-downloaded map to track where you are and you will see how to go back to your hotel without asking anyone else for directions. My Android phone's trackme app really helped me several times.

Stayed on 2 occassions. In a total of 3 rooms (changed once). Be careful that you get what you pay for in the room. One room had no hot water. One room had no working fan. The other room was just right (but half the plugs didnt work)

Right at centre of Thamel, basic
convenient for first visit to Nepal
7.7
Reasonable clean because it is in quite an old building. Reliable hot water and electricity supply. Noisy during the day if you leave windows open. Standard size room. Reception not necessarily knowledgeable regarding advice on tours. Kitchen is happy to supply hot water for drinking. Breakfast is not included and service for meal tends to be too slow.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You need a pocket torch if return to hotel at night. Bring a thermoflask to make tea/ coffee in your room
