nice hotel but preparing for the noise

Very nice hotel with good service This Hotel provided us a free transportation from the Tribuvan international airport but you need to book the room at least 2 nights . Only bad thing that happened about this hotel is It was very noisy at night so if u can not sleep and sensitive about the noise i wont recommend this hotel..but for those who r ok with the noise it s a good hotel though.

Great location but noisy at night as opposite the hotel has pub and play the music very loud, but it will stop before mid-night. The roof top restaurant has very nice view with sunrise and nice breakfast as well.

The hotel is conveniently situated. There is a transfer from the airport. It doesn't take long to get there.
After the presentation on Agoda I expected the room to be a nicer and cleaner, it turned out to be quite grungy. Compared to other hotels in Kathmandu with a similar price, this isn't the best choice. But the staff was nice and I had a wonderful breakfast in the very nice rooftop restaurant next morning.

Worst hotel to stay in Kathmandu
Very bad location with bad service

We stayed there for only 2 days as the service was very poor. No electricity back up and no restaurent for food. Aslo, Taxi can go till the hotel as this hotel is in very narrow lane. So, I won't recommend any one to visit this hotel unless they give all service free of cost.

the hotel is located right in the heart of thamel so all the shops and restaurants are in short walking distance; 15 mins walking to the durbar. the hotel staff is kind and helpful. they provide light 24/7 so even during power cuts you are able to function normally. there is warm water almost all the time, sometimes even hot but the pressure is low. good breakfast. no kettle, no hair dryer. no room service. extremely cold in winter, towels were almost always wet, when we asked for fresh ones we got some from one of empty rooms. all in all, i would recommend this hotel to all of you who are looking for inexpensive and clean place in good location. mind that the rooms overlooking the backyard are extremely noisy due to some night club.
Restaurant Tip:
I can recommend great restaurant with local Nepali and Tibetan cuisine - "Utse" located just few steps from the hotel on the main street.

The breakfast is great, the staffs always satisfied our requests. Room is spacious. Despite there were scheduled power cuts everyday, the hot water was supplied 24hours. Wifi was not stable though. We stayed in this hotel for 3 days, then went to pokhara for 2 nights. When we were back to Kathmandu, we stayed in this hotel for another 2 nights. We rented a car for 2 1/2 days sightseeing from the hotel and we got a good sedan car with good service from the driver.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We booked 'deluxe' bus baba adventure to Pokhara but it turned out to be just standard bus. It was claimed to come with air-cond, heating facilities and LCD TV with music system but none existed. The bus was also a bit old and poorly maintained. With the bus fare of USD$15, it's obviously overpriced.

location is great - stone throw distance away from handicrafts shops, various eateries with international cuisine.
Bedsheets and towels have stains on them - time to change new ones maybe?
exchange rates offered by the hotel is slightly better than those shops outside.
it was pretty cold winter yet heater is not available, they do provide extra blankets though.
kettle not provided thus boiling hot water is not feasible.
breakfast was great - you may order anything from the menu and they will make it to your order.

Spacious rooms and friendly staff

The hotel is located on a small ally off a busy street in the Thamel section of Kathmandu. The ground floor of the building is occupied by several businesses including a souvenir shop.
The hotel occupies five floors without an elevator which would would not be much help since electricity is cut off twice daily for about 8 hours. During these interruptions of electricity the bathroom light remained on thanks to elecricity supplied by a generator. (A helpful chart showing the daily schedule of electricity cut offs is posted on every floor). Our "Super Delux" room -- could not possibly described as such -- was spacious and simply furnished. The attached bathroom had a shower only. Hot water was solar heated. The room and and the attached bathroom where clean, so were the towels and the beds linen. We stayed at this hotel 5 nights and our room was not cleaned or straighten out nor did they change the towels until we requested it. Breakfast was included in the rooms rate. The menu included western selections as well as some Nepalese dishes it was served on the sunny roof and was quite pleasant. Couple of computers in the reception area were available for gusts use, (when the electricity was on). The staff was friendly and eager to help. The hotel is perfect for those with a Spartan soul and toned down expectations

Excellent service, large rooms and great breakfast
Helpfulness of staff, excellent breakfast with a range of options, location in central Thamel

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the large room, location with great restaurants nearby and friendliness of staff. In particular the manager Mukti arranged transport to Dhulikhel and flights to see the Himalayas including Everest. Power outages and therefore not always having hot showers, plus noise at nighttime from dogs and music were the only downsides.
