Great location but small rooms

everything else was a compromise. the rooms were small and musty. i went in november, the rooms were cold and dinghy (kathmandu has frequent power cuts) so i had no electricity from 6 to 9 every evening. the hotel had back up power for basic lighting and heated water, which was good.
basic decent hotel. if cleanliness could be up a bit with cleaner sheets and towels, it would be a great hotel.

Great Location

Ok, I stayed here for 3 nights, but spent most of the day going about my work / sightseeing. The hotel is in the same enclosure as the Buddha Stupa, you go in (pay some admission fee for the Buddha Stupa) and take a left. It's the third or fourth building on the left. There is no elevator, so whatever bags you have must be carried up by you to the reception on the first floor. Room 102 didn't have connection to their solar geyser, which I noticed only in the morning. Talk about a cold shower. They immediately moved me to Room 103, a slightly bigger room with no extra charge. The only inconvenience I felt was the small bathroom, the shower area was just big enough to fit me. The mirror and sink were next to the shower area and could not be covered by the shower curtain, leading to water all over the sink after my bath. Nice clean rooms, no view, decent location. Well worth the money. I didn't have any of their food, so I'm neutral on that one. The staff was friendly and helpful.
