Friendly Staffs with good services

The Guest House was located in Tourist area where we could find restaurant and do our shopping easily. The staffs were very friendly and provided us excellent services. They offered free airport pickup for those who stay at least 2 nights. The price was reasonable

Decent place, pushy owner
The best three things were: the comfortable bed, the decent Wi-Fi, and the balcony.

At first the manager seemed like a good guy and was initially very helpful. That is, until he sat us down, told us not to go anywhere else and use his trekking service ("...the others may be cheaper, but quality is very bad.). His trekking options were overpriced and after we kindly declined, he turned hostile and barely spoke to us us for the remaining 3 nights. The room itself was fitted with comfortable beds, was relatively clean and had a balcony. The hot water didn't work, the bathroom was crude and the towel given to us was unbelievably dirty.

we enjoyed a 3 day stay at the kathmandu madhuban guest house. all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
the hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and warm and the breakfasts are enjoyable.
the hotel is located in a very convenient location for sightseeing, shopping and great restaurants.
the staff will organise bookings for onward travel and will pick up from the airport free of charge.
the only negative was the sporadic power and the lack of hot water at times, but these are not a big problem.
highly recommended.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A trip to Bhaktapur is a must.

Fantastic hotel with very friendly good english speaking staff.
The price is very reasonable for the quality you get and it is absolute worth staying when you are in Kathmandu. Beautifull roof top with some very nice roofs on top.. Staff helps you with everything and safety is guaranteed. I recommend this hotel to everyone!! Everwhere in hotel very good free wifi!!

I enjoyed my stay at Madhuban Guest House. It is a beautiful hotel run by efficient team. It offers everything you will need during your stay in Kathmandu and the wi-fi is a plus. I will definitely come and stay here again. It is secure (with an all night security guard at the gate) and very well located.
The manager is very helpful and can provide you with tips for your travel in Nepal. I had already pre-booked most of my travel needs there and did not get to use his service. However, I will consider it for next time.

We really thought this hotel was a great budget option. We were picked up from the airport by the hotel for free which was also great. My only complaint is that it was really freezing cold inside the room. We had lots of extra blankets which helped a lot but when we were in the room it was too cold to be out from under the blankets! Also, the power was out a lot of the time and although there is a generator it only lit one faint light in our room and the bathroom light so we couldn't charge anything or watch tv in the evenings which was a bit unfortunate. I would recommend requesting a room that faces the sun, at least during the winter time. Overall it was a really nice place.
Restaurant Tip:
We really liked Ace Restaurant which was right down the street from the hotel (when you leave the hotel turn right). It is small, friendly, tasty and really cheap!

Great Value In A Great Location

Madhuban Guest House is almost as close to Thamel as you can get without having to deal with Thamel. The location helps you stay sane while keeping you right in the heart of the action. The road you're on is a big one, but it's quiet at night and there isn't anyone trying to get you to buy a chessboard every 5 paces. It's a much better situation than Thamel proper.
In this price range, even if you actually do get more than solar hot water(which means hot water for a few hours in the middle of the day, or maybe not at all), you will not get a TV. Madhuban gives you hot water almost 24 hours a day as well as a good restaurant on the ground floor and a good rooftop to relax and have a beer on.
Another big plus is that Durbar Squre is very easily accessible from Madhuban, basically by just following 1 street the whole way down.
Staff is super helpful, they give good deals and they don't try to get you to go trekking even though they have a tour counter downstairs. Really appreciated that. Thanks guys.
