"A Place With The Panoramic View of Taal Volcano"

The panoramic view of the Taal Volcano, their large swimming pool and their food
9.3
We checked-in at Club Balai Isabel to attend in our Cousin's Wedding. Upon our arrival in the resort, their staffs were very accommodating, greeted and serviced us with a smile. Our Cousin's Wedding Ceremony took place near Taal Lake with the panoramic view of the World's famous Taal Volcano as their back draft. We appreciated their beautiful Garden Reception at the boardwalk. Then we stayed at Sampaguita Manor small room yet clean. Generally Club Balai Isabel is a nice and beautiful place to stay for vacation far from the crowded and busy Metro Manila. We highly recommend Club Balai Isabel to our relatives and friends.

Great place to stay especially after trekking the volcano. Very relaxing. The fish foot spa is a must try.

Great hotel and service

Cable TV, balcony, close to the beach

The resort is located right on Taal Lake, overlooking Mount Taal. Lots of great scenic spots for photography. Check-in was disappointing, though. Supposed to have a free shuttle transfer to and from the Casino at town but when we called, they said "no such thing". The staff brought us to a small room with no view at all and only realized that it was the wrong room when we told him. He could have check with the counter beforehand, rather than making us walk here and there. That aside, breakfast was okay. Buffet only available on weekends (Friday excluded, sadly). View, again, was awesome. You eat by the pool, facing the lake. Peaceful ambience with great jazz music. Security at the front of the resort was helpful in getting a tricycle for me and my two girlfriends. Even helped us in haggling with the price to bring us to the jeepney station (15 pesos). They provide trips to Mount Taal at a cheaper cost (surprisingly!) than those touting outside. Seriously. I paid a flat 2500 pesos for a maximum of 6 people. This includes boat ride, landing fee, tourism fee, and a guide. Horse not included (400 pesos to be paid at the base of the mountain itself). All in all, it was a great stay in a beautiful resort.

Nice place but pricey

view and proximity to Taal Volcano

I went there with my sister and occupied the lakefront suite. The room is big with mini kitchen, it's more of a studio type condo with balcony. The restroom is ok but no bathtub and when we arrived we had to request for bath towels because all that's there are those 2 mini towels. We also have to ask for the hair dryer and toothbrush -- yes! this was regarded as hotel room but we have to request for those. There's a wifi signal in the room but you have to pay for it and when we said yes, they turned us down because there's no available "wifi card" anymore. I cannot connect to my mobile internet since the phone signal is sooo weak on that area. We have no other choice but to go the Terraza pool area and the reception area. Overall, the place is really good for those who are looking for a quiet weekend getaway. The price of the room compared to the service we got is not commensurate, I think it’s overpriced.
Hotel Feature Tip: Book the lakefront view rooms to get an excellent view of Taal Volcano. If you're travelling with your family or in big groups, you may go for their villas.

The hotel staff were very accomodating. I was immediately assisted in all my room and dining requests. Even the owner is very in touch with the guests. I had an awesome new year's eve celebration because of Club Balai.

Great resort with a lot of activities to offer

recreational activities, facilities

Had a good stay with the family. Lots of activities to do if you are part of a group, as a couple, or with a family. There are 3 pools located in the resort with a good view of Taal Volcano.

good place but old rooms

swimming pool, available activities
5.3
The place is huge and really nice. It's best for nature-tripping and relaxation. Also recommended for big groups since the place has different activities. The rooms we stayed in are a bit old. The towels and the sheets smell old. The light went off for a while but the service people took care of it immediately. Buffet breakfast was not much variety but the dishes tastes good.

Beautiful locale, great rooms but not 4 star

Location, rooms, on site spa and touring services
7.7
The resort if perfectly located in between Manila and the white sand beach areas so easy to do day trips. The resort offers god onsite services like a day spa as well touring services; the management should look into ensuring that they meet 4 star expectations in regard to personnel services; some of the reception staff not very profesisonal; restaurant staff seemed unfamiliar with their menu, slow and inconsistent service; the buffet breakfast was great - in part because choice of fod better than on a la carte menu but self serve also made for 'better' service. No safe-boxes in rooms and wifi very unreliable; given the price hotel might wnat to consider upgrading wifi installation and offering in rooms especailly the more epensive ones.
Travel tip: if you don't have a car motorcycle can be difficult to get aorund - need to hire. Seems there are frequent power outtages; hotel equipped with generators however if your room is next to one of these when the power goes out and the generators are switchd on it gets very noisy - so book a room away from generators.

Great place

gives a scenic view of taal volcano

overall experience was good. the service crew were accomodating and nice. the suite that we stayed at needs some proper cleaning and updating. we were informed that the resort is currently undergoing renovations which explains the sticky floor, non-working kitchen appliances, and broken shower. but the place itself was worth the trip, big pools, nice area to stroll around, and of course, an awesome view of taal lake and taal volcano.
