Good location
Inside a shopping mall and sea

Location of the hotel are inside a shopping mall.within 10min. Walk to the 2 biggest shopping mall in town. Room is clean but small and no window at all. I think it is only good for 1 to 2 days stay in the city.

Simple settings and located in the seaside mall

ecotel is a decent hotel at great value. while the rooms look like cruise ship rooms without natural light, space is efficiently used yet comfortable. it has full amenities including a/c and tv for my rate. there were some signs advertising rooms as low as 200 but i assumed these were hostel type shares. for what we got in the middle of town, i think was great value. staff weren't particularly helpful when we asked for help with airport transfer and what nightlife there is - but legazpi is small enough to learn quickly and find you way with a tricycle driver.

From the airport, there is a free transport service going to Ellis Ecotel with 10-15minutes travel time. It is located in Embarcadero, a mall in seaside with several restaurants (Bigg’s Diner, Gerry’s Grill, Inasal, etc.), shops (Cinderella, Plains & Prints, etc.), drugstore (Mercury), grocery (Puregold) and Duty Free. The noise from the mall is not heard when you are already in the hotel lobby or room. The area is very accessible by tricycles and jeepneys, so it means that you can easily visit the tourist destinations from this accommodation as well.
We were allowed to check-in at the Ecotel as early as 9am. We had limited choice of room, because we booked a bit late, we had Superior Queen no windows . Designing the walls with mirrors facing each other gave the room a bigger perspective. I’m not surprised that the sink is outside the shower room, I had seen that same setup the first time at a cheap hotel in Macau. Two things I see on it: it could be time saving so if one is brushing the other is taking a bath; second, it can be a bit unhygienic to see a sink on same room with the bed. Aside from that, all is good: the bed is soft and clean, there is split-type air conditioner, the rain shower has cold and hot water, toiletries are provided, and water dipper (tabo) is available upon request.
As for the improvements that they can add: include more lights on the bedside or ceiling, slippers on the room and bathroom, add more English or cable channels to satisfy the needs of the foreigners. The free breakfast at the seaside is very disappointing; the food is too oily and has very limited choices. Instead, they can use the bar area of the hotel to serve better and well rounded variety of menu.

it was a nice experience staying with the hotel and i would recommend this one. for the low rate it's very worth it especially if you're a light packer. only had a problem with ants coming from i don't know where occasionally. but all in all the stay was worth it. i didn't really order food from the hotel so i cannot comment about that.
Travel tip:
pack light and always choose to walk all the food places and malls are nearby. No need for transpo except of course for far distance travel.

location is good and accessible to public transportation. location of the hotel is within the embarcadero, a new strip of shops and restaurants though lots of spaces are still closed. they have a nice zipline crossing the water but didnt tried it when we were there because it was raining and chilly and we lack of time. room is okay. but staff still needs to be trained more

Nice place with great location

This is my second time to stay in this hotel. I found it conveniently located to malls and entertainment.I am well rested when I'm here because it is quiet and I don't hear noises outside.The amenities are what I just wanted and needed.I wish they will provide free bottled water for new comers.Employees are approachable and accommodating.Elevator on my second visit failed so we have to use the stairs but I would still love to come on my next visit.

Econo Hotel that is Ellis Ecotel

I booked a double standard room through Agoda believing it was good for two pax as mentioned in Visit Legazpi website (in fairness w/ Agoda, my confirmed booking indicated Max 1 pax). Upon arrival at the hotel the front desk officer was too polite to tell me that the 'double standard room' is no different from 'single standard room' and actually was not ideal for two pax but reasoned out that they allow such accommodation if hotel guests so desire. I admire this honesty (meaning they consider those travelling in tight budget) although i got misled by the website mentioned earlier. Hotel personnel were accommodating allowing me to see the available rooms so i decided to get the bigger one with minimal additional charges plus promo discount; it was commendable :)
Ellis Ecotel is indeed an econo hotel so don't expect much more like a luxury hotel ; it was far more comfortable though than some 'regular hotels' with their new and clean rooms (well maintained, linens and towels were changed daily), adequate water supplies with hot and cold shower, unfortunately the commode and shower were not separated (may be a curtain should have been used to keep the other side dry) and the condensate from the air conditioning was leaking unto the table top beneath the unit. I like the glass panels all over including the sliding door of the CR; it added magic & romance to the place and made the room looked bigger. There was phone, wide screen cable tv and the room is wi-fi capable.
The hotel is located at the 3rd floor of Embarcadero de Legazpi, a mall along the seaport of Albay, which makes coming up and down the hotel a little difficult (there is an elevator though on the far side which serves 24 hour and an escalator on the mall side but not open all the time). No food is available in the hotel and there is not much choice of breakfast down stairs since the mall is not yet open before 10 am.

Great Value, Staff could be better

I thought the decor of the hotel was very beautiful. All blue and white. The rooms were gorgeous as well, lots of white and glass. It was very clean and the linens smelled amazing as well. I thought that the staff wasn't very friendly and wasn't very helpful when I had questions about the area. All in all it's a fantastic value for your money.
Restaurant Tip:
Gerry's Grill was good but there is a night market 5 minutes down the street that is incredible. Try the bbq there.

the rooms were small but very comfortable
the location is also tourist friendly
the staff was very warm and friendly
however i would like to comment some improvement points for the hotel
1. there's no dipper or bidet in their comfort rooms
2. no service breakfast (especially for those who availed a package with no breakfast in agoda) you have to go outside to have breakfast
