Short stay 3 Nights
Location, Bar Aera, Bar with Food near to the sea with overlooking to the sea
The Hotel is already old, not friendly looking; the room very dark and old. The reception was not really friendly. But the baddest thing was: NO INTERNET/WIFI inside the Room (only area Bar and Reception !!!) and the tv verry old and verry bad for looking. Room size is ok. First we arrive, CR no work and shower water is stocking .... Breakfast was verry bad ... the swimming pool water was dirty ... The best was wreally only the area from the bar ... with the food there. The stuff there bar ...same breakfast, was verry friendly and helpfull; thanks. Befor renovation this hotel ... no more, thanks.

Over priced and unfriendly
Ordinary, you expect a shower with some pressure, a modern tv, a more secure door lock and at least a bin in the main room oh and a smile when you check in would be nice.

Good Stay in Bohol
Location was great, Suite room was comfortable and some staff were helpful.
On arrival, we were very disappointed that the 'Superior' room was in the older part of the hotel. We insisted to be in the newer, modern part and even paid another 750pesos/night to get the upgrade. Be warned, the 'Superior' room is inferior, not superior. For 100USD per night we expected a nice room. It was not. The Suite room that we upgraded to was comfortable and clean. The breakfast is a waste of time. Many other places on the beach have a decent breakfast. Internet in the lobby is not much better than dial up speed, but if you're really on vacation you don't need it. Many other beach side restaurants and bars have decent internet. It is clean in the main hotel and much quieter than on the beach. Location is good because it's literally a couple minutes and you're on the beach. Overall, good value for the money, but it is the Philippines, so manage your expectations.

Alona Kew is a great location!
Room, location, beach front
For a short stay at Alona Beach, 4 nights and 4 days, Alona Kew was a perfect choice. It was located within reasonable distance from everything and it was easy to get around. The hotel staff were more than helpful and friendly. It is located right on Alona beach, and it has a wonderful view of the area. The suite room we stayed in was clean and very large. The size of the room was worth the reasonable amount of money we spent as a couple. My only complaint is that the breakfast was very boring and not to 3rd graded hotel standards. I think for sure the hotel can spice up their breakfast. But to be honest, the Buzz Cafe and other restaurants are very close by and you can just pop in for a wonderful breakfast right on your doorstep. I think the breakfast is a minimal problem in the hotels quality as a whole! The hotel has good wifi and they have tours and private transport for day trips that are reasonably priced. Also, they have a secured safebox area for all your important belongings and it is very safe for the Philippines :)

Great location
Location, friendly staff, beach chairs
The Alona Kew is situated in the centre of Alona Beach, putting you at the heart of all the bars and services. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, getting you extra things when you need them, and bringing you beach chairs for your comfort. The rooms are modest but clean and functional. The showers are good, and you have hot water when you want it. The courtyard is convenient for families as it's enclosed from the traffic of the beach, and houses the pool. At the same time it can get pretty noisy as sound easily travels though the walls. The wifi isn't great, but works most of the time - similar to the rest of the island - and it's only available in the lobby. Breakfast leaves much to be desired, although you're guaranteed toast, coffee, eggs, rice, jams and fruit. Some other dishes may not be so appetizing depending on what you're used to. The staff will try their best to make your stay comfortable.
