i had an unpleasant stay in this hotels, bedsheets are smelly, pillows are very very small like a childs pillows, you can hear everything all around your room, far from everything, no airport shuttle, very very far from downtown and no decent restaurant. the hotel is in the isolated place, away from the main road. i cannot not definitely recommend this place to the locals, and i am not going to this hotels anymore.

Who loves to prepare own food and is familiar to take tricycle, to bring everything to the hotel it's really good, the rooms have all necessary kitchen equipment inklusive big refrigirator. Especially if you travel with kids or friends, you can have fun and save money. If you want to have service comfort and beach proximity with night life, you may not be satisfied. You have to ride tricycle, but the problem is, there is sometimes no one around. A good thing there is swimming pool, so you don't even need to go always to the beach, if you want to swim or just enjoy water.
Advantage of this location is no noise at night because of nightlife.

This has been the worst hotel experience I've ever had. After accidently overflowing the water in the sink on the floor, the hotel owner claimed that we owed him thousands of dollars in floor damage even before stepping into our room. He claimed that we damaged the furniture, tiles, caused his water pump to break, and septic tank to overflow when none of this was true. He made up all these expenses that we had to pay and threatened us that he will call the police and that we can't leave the country unless we pay him. We booked the hotel for 6 nights, this happened on the second night and we decided to leave the next morning because we didn't feel safe with his lies and threats. We had to call the police and embassy to help us and an investigation was done. In the end, we didn't have to pay him anything because we didn't cause any damage in the first place. This hotel owner ruined our whole vacation and we had to find new hotel to stay at for the remainder 4 nights.

Stayed one night. Rooms are quite large, better than expected. 15 mins walk from the beach or a tricycle ride is required at per person. Overall experience ok like other guests' reviews.
Ordered a breakfast at the reception but they havent prepared anything after 30 mins which is a point that you might wanna know.

Even for eggs / sandwiches it took 30 mins to arrive to your table. Be prepared to starve. Always check regularly if they're preparing your dishes or not.

it's about ten to fifiteen minutes walk from alona beach,away from the noisy beach,next to a bunch of other hotels nearby like the chill-out hostel. if you don't mind the walk and prefer a hotel in a quiet location with big rooms, a pool and good service it's definitely the one!reasonable price as well as extra spacious room.recommend it!

We assumed the "short" walk to the beach was a path thru scenic jungle. But nope, about 15 minutes of city roads, certainly not the hotels fault, just not what was expected. Hotel has an old and a new section. We stayed in the new, so can't say about the original. But our room had plumbing problems, no lighting in CR, very poor TV reception, two single beds (4" foam, not mattresses) pushed together for a psuedo-queen bed and the "free wifi" was unusable in room. Lots of loud/young children present and playing in the pool at 6:30 AM. Old grouchy man you think? Maybe, but don't most hotels have rules restricting pool hours? We spent all our time at Alona Beach itself, good snorkeling (right off beach), good food and decent sunshine. Only went back to hotel room when absolutely necessary.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Fairly cheap dolphin watching/snorkeling trips (protected sanctuary) easily available, and worthwhile. But great/free snorkeling can be found right in front of Horizon hotel (Alona Bch) about 200-300 yards offshore.

The hotel's location is quite a walk going to the beach, but if you like to exercise then this one is for you. Room space is enough for us. I would suggest that they provide a generator for water. When the electricity was down, water service is also affected.
Restaurant Tip:
Bring your own food or buy from the restaurant. Their room service was until 11 pm only.
