comfortable and enjoy swimming with the white sand beach very near the sea......i really like roaming the beach front with food restaurant very accessible......

next to the beach, best bar at alona, but pretty loud. nothing for late riser, staff is talking and yelling.
anyway, the staff is very nice!!! food isn't! but that's a problem at alona in gerneral!

my boyfriend and i stayed at the alona beach resort and had a nice stay. the room had very standard furnishing, a cool balcony and a/c. the staff was friendly, although the women at the front desk couldn't ever answer our questions about tours, getting laundry done or renting bicycles and motorbikes. they always had to ask someone else like the security guy outside. the only downside about this stay was the construction everyday that started at 8am sharp and ended at 6pm. the nailing, banging and crushing woke us up every morning. if you decide to stay there, i would ask if the construction has finished or be prepared to have a wake-up call every morning of hammer and nails.

What a gem - fabulous hotel

we stayed for four nights but wished it was longer. this hotel is not one of the big chain hotel groups, but our stay was absolutely fantastic. only nine rooms at the resort with a great bar / restaurant. staff were always smiling and very friendly. the pool area was nice (and water was warm). the restaurant flows down to the beach area and is beautiful at night (quite romantic). food and drinks are quite cheap. we did not dive, but there seems to be excellent dive shop alongside the resort.
this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at, and would definitely recommend it

Don't miss the Chocolate Hills or Tarsiers (primates)

this is a hotel for divers. the attached dive center has both nitrox and trimix capabilities and seem a very well run place with many expat divers. i am sure divers will love this place!
it also has a bar playing very loud music (not my taste but then taste is subjective) until 2 am or even later. everyday. so if you are troubled by noise ask for a room far away from the bar. bar service is not good. a beer takes more than 20 min to get to you sometimes, even when there are more wait staff than guest at 2 pm in the hot afternoon.
the rooms are clean and well equipped. there is also a pool at the back, which is much appreciated. people were generally friendly and helpful
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Alona Beach is not a big beach. You can walk the entire beach in less than 20 min. Go on the Luboc River cruise.

This is a good and practical hotel. Not luxurious but very comfortable and enjoyable. We asked for a room far from the bar which the hotel graciously reserved for us. Only issues are the squeaky bed and their late check-out policy. We checked-out at 12:55pm and we were charged additional P150 for this. When I told the front desk at around 12:30 that we will just pack up and then check out, we were told that there is a P150 charge if we reach 1pm. So we hurried and when we checked out at 12:55 they insisted that we have to pay extra. I didn't argue anymore but I find this policy too strict and for them it was not negotiable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do the countryside tour and island hopping/dolphin watching. It's worth it. I suggest that you hire your own car and boat.

My friend and I recently stayed in the deluxe room of the hotel for 2 nights. We definitely enjoyed our stay. They have great customer service, nice and clean big room, hot water, free Wifi, and so on. Highly recommended.
