Excellent service from the staff, very helpful with arranging tour bookings. Food from the restaurant was great, pool and other facilities were also good.
Regular rooms are quite small with hard beds however and somewhat noisy airconditioning.

Quiet location and cozy rooms
the best location for relax and attractive price

i stayed here two night and ate breakfast and dinner. staff was nice and foods also tasted good. i wanted to relax and have scuba diving. location is a little bit far from main city but close to diving shop. as you know from the hotel's picture, this hotel is quite cute. i love this hotel. however, the window's set-in air conditioner was sometimes noisy. i hope they will be change silent one.
Restaurant Tip:
native chocolate is bitter than you thought. be careful!

We had an amazing stay at Amarela. The location is secluded. The landscape is well designed and the rooms are nicely decorated and spotless clean. Beach wasn't top notch, but the quietness makes up for it. Staff at Amarela really want you to have a wonderful experience! Amarela would be my spot when I travel to Bohol again.

we stayed four nights at amarela between 22 and 26 october. the resort is intimate and quiet, located far away from the popular alona beach. our room had a beautiful view of the sea and sunrise. although we were told that this is the start of the peak season, we had the resort mostly to ourselves. there were a few other couples but despite the small size of the resort, we hardly saw them. the staff at amarela are very friendly and more than willing to advise us on what to do. the beach at the resort is very clean with clear waters. a down side is that the first metre or two of the shore right at amarela is rather rocky so it was painful to walk in the water. however, there is a protected reef right in front of the property where you can easily and conveniently snorkel around. the décor of the resort is really homey and comfortable. local art and antiques are strewn about the main house, dining area and upstairs lobby. the pool is also really pleasant to swim in thanks to its natural heating elements. if you are looking to explore panglao and bohol other than the usual land tour, be prepared to fork out 300 pesos to hire a car. our advice is to simply sit back and relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of amarela. note that next to the resort are a few holiday homes rented out to locals on weekends and holidays. it can get noisy with nonstop music. thank goodness it only lasted one day of our stay! also note that there can be quite a bit of geckos and lizards roaming around the premise. we eventually got used to them but for those unnerved by such creatures, keep your room doors closed at all times!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
book your land and dolphin watching tours with the hotel. must sees in Bohol include Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary and Loboc River.
